My Experience

I am a confident and highly experienced practitioner with over 14 years of dedicated experience in childcare. I have had the privilege of working with children of various ages and abilities, particularly focusing on those with additional needs. My journey has taken me through a range of roles, including working in school settings, serving as a nanny with sole charge responsibilities, providing respite care, supporting families in a domestic violence refuge, and even working at a summer camp in America.

I specialize in supporting children on the Autistic Spectrum, but my expertise extends to working with children with physical, medical, and emotional needs as well. As a nanny, I have cared for families in both part-time and full-time capacities, including a set of twins from newborn and a family with two children who have additional needs, where I often took on sole charge.

In addition to my nannying experience, I have served as a private tutor for several families with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). My focus has been on enhancing their concentration, communication, and sensory regulation skills. I employ personalized activities tailored to each child's unique needs, whether that involves lots of sensory breaks to help them complete their school work, engaging in familiar settings to help build confidence in public spaces, exploring new environments to alleviate anxiety associated with the unknown or an other area the child needs support with at any time.

I am adept at introducing and utilizing PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) to facilitate communication for children who may struggle with verbal expression. My skills also include basic British Sign Language, Makaton, and foundational Braille, enabling me to connect with children through various communication methods. I am a quick learner and pride myself on my ability to adapt to each child's current communication style, employing a combination of techniques to help them express themselves more effectively.

My Qualifications

I am a level 3 qualified child care practitioner. I have lots of experience with children of all ages and needs. I specialise in working with children with autistic spectrum disorders.

My Fees

• Babysitting from £22.00 per hour
• Tutoring from £45.00 per hour
