About Me
Hello and thank you for your interest in the Early Years childcare provided from my home setting at Diamonds in the Sky Daycare, at the heart of Lee in the borough of Lewisham. I have a three bedroom, mid-terrace house with an adjoining garden. It is my personal belief that children should be able to learn and play outdoors as often as possible, therefore, the free-flow between my living room and garden form a large part of the children's day. Outdoor excursions are vital to stimulate interest and investigation and are built into our everyday routine. Two of the upstairs rooms are used for childcare, one being a small nursery and the other for soft play and further cots for napping.
My Experience
Having qualified as a teacher in 2005, I have spent eight years working for the Borough of Greenwich, in two, fully inclusive schools. Throughout my teaching career, I taught children with a variety of skills, needs, gifts and personalities, and, these years have fully-cemented my desire to continue working directly with children and their families. This aspiration has been key in making the decision to develop my own childcare setting, with a child-centred approach. My Qualifications
* 9 GCSEs and 3 A-levels
* Btec Diploma- Foundation Studies in Art and Design, Ravensbourne College
* Ba (Hons) - Visual Culture, University of Brighton
* PGCE in Primary Education, Key Stages 1 and 2- Goldsmiths, University of London
My Availability
In mid-December 2023, two of our long term carees (siblings) made a move out of London and their spaces are now available. This has given some long-term clients the opportunity to swap their days on our timetable and the available spaces currently are-

* 2 x Thursday places

My Fees
- Childminding from £6.80 per hour
I charge £71.50 per day; this includes meals and snacks (£70) and a £1.50 contributions over day towards excursions. Due to the outdoor nature of our routine, the charge is per day, rather than per hour as suggested by the profile. The hourly rate quoted below is a requirement to be able to update and save my profile, and has been calculated by dividing our daily charge by the number of childcare hours per day, however, we do not operate on a half day basis, only daily. Our childcare hours are 07.30- 18.00. We ask clients to drop their children to us by 08.30 in order for them to be part of the breakfast routine and collect their children between 17.30 and 18.00 in order to give us plenty of time to allow for excursions, tea time and last changes of the day before collections begin.

Laura and team provide a wonderful, calm, caring and structured learning environment where children can explore and develop whilst feeling safe and secure. Our daughter has been attending Diamonds in the Sky Daycare for the past year. In that time she has thrived and loves going to Laura’s to play, learn and for the fantastic daily outings Laura and team take them on so they can explore the outside world. As an ex primary school teacher Laura has a strong focus on structure and learning coupled with a passion to to allow children the freedom to explore and discover for themselves. We truly feel grateful that we were able to secure a place at Diamonds in the Sky for our daughter.
