My Summary
About Me
My name is Jessica and I live in Wardle and with my husband and two children age 11 and 12. I am in an ideal location for families living in Littleborough who travel into Rochdale and I am also close to Birch Hill Hospital and Wardle High School.
I currently pick up and drop off from St Andrews school and nursery.
In my recent Ofsted inspection I received Outstanding in all areas.
I provide a warm, safe, friendly home environment with a family atmosphere in which children feel valued, can play, learn and develop. Children receive a lot of individual attention whilst enjoying interaction with others.
I appreciate that parents are the most important people in a child's life and therefore I consult with parents on all aspects of their child's care.
I have an outside play area with a small lawn, a fairy and dinosaur garden. I have completed Forest School training and enjoy encouraging children to explore their environment and get mucky! Outside children can experience something different, be energetic and develop their confidence and self esteem through hands on learning experiences. I regularly visit parks, Hollingworth Lake, local farms and go on walks. I also use the local Childrens Centres, Toddler groups and library and take the children on trips further afield to museums and farms.
I have a large open plan living area which the children can enjoy. I have a huge variety of toys such as small world, home corner, building bricks, puzzles, books and plenty of arts and craft materials and junk modelling to keep us busy. I also bake, sing and dance with the children.
I provide the children with healthy home cooked meals and snacks at no extra charge. I try to include the children as much as possible when planning our weekly menu and I also involve them in cooking and preparing meals where ever possible. I have experience catering for different dietary requirements such as gluten / lactose free and halal.
I understand how important it is for you as a parent and also your child to feel settled in my home and therefore I offer a settling in period where you can gradually introduce your child to my home by having a series of visits before your child is left in my care.

I am a first time mum and the thoughts of going back to work and leaving our daughter with someone was absolutely daunting. We knew we wanted a childminder as our daughter is adopted and we wanted a smaller, more intimate environment than a nursery for her. We certainly found it with Jessica and her family. From the moment we walked into their house for an initial meeting our daughter felt at ease as she took off and started playing right away. From that moment and every day since then, when she has been picked up from there she is clearly comfortable and happy with her carers.
Jessica puts on such a variety of activities to keep the children active and stimulate their minds and interests, she inspires my own parenting! Their weekly menus are full of variety and I know my little one is eating well when she is there. Jessica keeps parents fully informed of what their child has been up to with a daily log book and she sends lovely photos of my daughter enjoying herself at various activities which brighten up my working day.
Jessica's childcare setting is like a home from home and the children in her care are treated like members of the family. I am absolutely thrilled to have found her and would be devastated to have to look elsewhere for someone new!
As a first time mum returning to work after having over 12 months off, I was extremely anxious about finding someone to look after my son. It's a minefield as I've never had to trust someone other than family to care for him to a high standard.
From the moment I met Jessica and Ian I felt completely at ease. The first impressions were fantastic. Such a friendly welcoming couple and I knew within minutes I would have no problem leaving Lincoln with them.
Jessica was so engaging with Lincoln and I could see he felt comfortable in her company which was a relief. I had made my mind up that they were the perfect childminders for us. Lincoln can be slightly wary of men but him and Ian are great pals.
Lincoln has been attending Jessica's Childminding Service now for just under 12 months and I can honestly say he has come on immensely in all aspects of his development.
Each day I know exactly what he has done, what he has eaten, how long his naps have been and even down to his nappies.
The activities they provide for the children are amazing, throughout summer I don't think they were ever in the house. Constantly out exploring which for me is a great activity for any child.
Jessica and Ian have been an absolute god send to us, so helpful and flexible when we have needed the extra support.
There are no negatives about this couple. I went with my instincts and can honestly say I don't have any regrets.
Lincoln loves them both and so do we.
You really wouldn't be disappointed in choosing them to look after your child.
I first contacted Jessica just over a year ago with a view to possibly sending my daughter who has complex needs to a childminder for 15hrs per week, I wasn't sure i could leave my daughter with someone as she has epilepsy & having visited a few different nurseries/childminders i simply had not felt comfortable with anyone thus far. We chatted on the phone & then me & my daughter visited Jessica & Ian. We were instantly set at ease & Jessica was happy for me to accompany my daughter on initial visits which we did & it helped me to feel more settled that they knew my daughters routines/medical needs etc. My little girl has thrived in the year she has been with Jessica & the family. We love the family environment that she is a part of & Jessica does a daily diary which details in depth all the amazing things Eva does in a day. Our daughter has been taken on some wonderful trips to museums, farms, parks etc & she has developed at an unbelievable rate both physically & socially considering the condition that she has. On a personal note Jessica has been a lifesaver as we have no family locally & we really don't know what we would have done without her & Ian's support in taking extra good care of our princess. They care deeply about all the children in their setting & we feel so blessed to have them in our daughters life & hope to maintain that into the future.
After obtaining a residential order for my son, Danny and becoming a single father, I had to make several changes to my life, one of which involved going part time at work. Therefore I was in need of childcare for Saturdays.
After receiving a message from Jessica, I took Danny around to meet her and Ian. We were made to feel extremely welcome from the outset and Danny was soon up playing a game of catch with Ian, despite him normally being a very shy child to begin with. What should also be mentioned is what a credit Jessica and Ian's young sons are to them both, as this illustrates the kind of environment you will be leaving your child/children with.
Deciding to place Danny in the care of Jessica and Ian, was one of the best decisions I made during a stressful period and immediately helped me relax when going to work. Danny always came home full of stories about where he had been and what he had been up to, which in itself is amazing. Previous to this it had been very difficult just to get Danny to talk about his day at school as his confidence was low. On more than one occasion, I have revisited some of these places with Danny as a result, in turn making my relationship stronger with my son.
As well as the standard childcare, Danny was also included in Jessica and Ian's little boys birthday party and they even had a little celebration for Danny's 8th birthday. Perhaps the most touching though was picking a Father's Day card with Danny for myself to open on Father's Day. A really personal touch very much appreciated.
All I can say really is that if you decide to leave your child in the care of Jessica and Ian then you will NOT regret it - your child will be well cared for, VERY well fed (Danny had his favourite meal cooked for him also on his first day), very well stimulated and will enjoy his/her time immensely.
As the title suggests - One in a Million.
Thanks so much Jessica and Ian - you really are amazing
As a 1st time Mum returning to work I faced a difficult decision in regards to child care - however, finding Jessica and Ian couldn't have worked out any better, I have a lively 18mth old little boy who is thriving in this nurturing and educational environment, Jessica offers a lovely, warm, educational and caring environment that includes lots of stimulation - I get tired just reading about the days out and activities they get up to - nutritional meals and healthy snacks for my little one, daily logs of all the activities my little one has completed that I love reading.
My son's speech has really developed, he is confident with other children and it is lovely to watch him socialising and playing with other young children. My son has explored his likes and dislikes in regards to play and development with Jessica and has tried all sorts of activities from baking to planting seeds to day trips to the museums.
I leave my son with a smile on his face running over to play with his pals and go to work a confident and happy Mum that my boy is in very safe hands
Highly recommend Jessica to any Mum's/Dad's looking for a child minder who really puts the needs of the child before their own.
