My Summary

My Experience

I started my childcare career at a private nursery in Kenley in 2007.
I worked there for 4 years and progressed from a Nursery Assistant to a Nursery Nurse to a Room Leader and Head of the Toddler Unit, with an additional responsibility of being Safeguarding Children's Officer. I worked with the 2-3 year old age group for 1.5 years and 2 years in the toddler unit (1-2 years). Throughout the 4 years of working at the nursery we got moved around so i have experience of 3 months old babies right up to 5 year olds up in pre-school.
My job role included:
•Arranging unit meetings to discuss positives and negatives and create changes where needed
•Being approachable to parents if they have any worries or concerns of the unit
•Supervise the nursery assistants whilst supporting and guiding them
•Key person – keeping a certain amount of children’s development files up to date, arranging meetings with parents, making next steps for the children’s development
•Make overall decisions for changes to the room
•Care for the children and build relationships with their parents

September 2010-2013
A nanny to two gorgeous children, who were 7 months and 3 years when I started.
My job role included; finding toddler groups/activities for the children to attend, school drop off and pick ups, looking after childrens rooms, bath time on occasion, art and craft, being supportive to parents when in need as well as the children, preparing healthy dinners, creating and fun and loving atmosphere at all times!

Mat leave (June 2013-February 2014)

February 2014-Feb 2016
Lovely nanny job with a 3 year old boy, bringing my 1 year old with me, who get on great together! The usual tidying up after kids, preparing meals, taking on farm trips, music groups etc.

Jan 2016-June 2017
Lovely nanny job with a 4 year old and a 2 year old, bringing Tilly with me again. School runs, creative activities, general tidy up after kids, cooking dinner etc.

Maternity leave until June 2017

Jan 2019-July 2020
Lovely nanny job for twin boys, before and after school and longer days in school holidays. Took both my two little ones with me and had a lovely year and a half together.

January 2022 - Currently working at the Childrens Trust as a childrens care assistant working shift work.

NVQ Level 2 in Childcare and Education
NVQ Level 3 In Childcare and Education (Advanced Apprenticeship)

GCSE: English Language (B), English Literature (C), Maths (C), Leisure and Tourism (Double C), French (D), I.T (D)

3 weeks experience at kings college hospital as a maternity support worker, helping new mums breastfeeding.
