About Me
I am a mum of 3 and have over 20 years experience in a variety of educational settings my passion is in supporting children to achieve their full potential , emotionally , socially and educationally. I am situated in the heart of Swanage town close to the beach, Durlston country park and Prince Albert's gardens. I am in a beautiful local setting that is separate from my own residential home. I have space for up to 7/8 children from the ages of 10 months to 5 years and am open 45 weeeks of the year and run holiday clubs.
I offer a nature based , friendly child led environment that focuses around the childrens learning schemas and natural interests . The environment I provide enabls children to learn independently and freely , inspiring them to be curious , resilient and help to develop a healthy understanding and wonder at the world around them, whilst keeping line and up to date with the current EYFS curriculum.
My Experience
Before becoming a childminder, I worked as a Deputy Manager and SENco at a nature nursery for ages 2-5years . Where I completed many Early Years qualifications and CPD training . This was an amazing place to work , it was all about child led activities and giving the children the freedom to learn through self - motivated interest.This is something I continue i do. I also spent 2 years as a room leader for 3-4 year olds in Berkshire, as well as running the breakfast club I also previously spent a year along working as an outdoor activity leader.
I also gained a lot of experience and knowledge of SEN when working with and supporting children with learning difficulties such as ASD, EBD,PDA ,dyslexia and dyspraxia in a specialist school . I supoorted an a adapted version of the primary national curriculum and worked within the EYFs.
I have level 3 qualifications and various CPD training along with about 8 years direct EYFS training and experience.
Over the course of my previous working settings I have gained qualifications in teaching and supporting jolly phonics and jolly grammar , a certificate in supporting children in primary , Early years SaL training, along with many other Early years CPD qualifications and training . I am also Hygge accredited and use the curisoty approach and an outdoor nature based learning ethos. I am also currently completing an open degree in education and psychology and I am continually acssesing various Early years specialist CPD courses .
