About Me

Hi thank you for taking the time to read my page, I am a fully qualified childminder registered with Ofsted for the past 10 years now.

I am a mother of 2 children who are 10 and 13 years old so dealing with the the day to day challenges that children like to present us with is at first hand.

I am also a legal guardian for my 17 year old Nephew who also lives with us due to very heart breaking circumstances.
I have always enjoyed being around children and have always had a passion to work with them however I never perused this on leaving school, I chose the formal path of computers and business however I never felt satisfied.

After having a family of my own I felt it was now time to follow my passion therefore I have become a childminder.

I love nothing more than being surrounded by children and enjoying the challenges that they throw our way.

I am a great believer of letting children explore the outdoors and experiencing nature so regular visits to the local parks and woods is of great importance

I also believe that child interaction is paramount in the learning and development therefore I attend local stay and play groups to help with the learning and development of each of the children.

Unfortunately due to covid19 the way In which I work has been adapted, the regular visits out and about in the community are reduced we still explore however i have reduced the interaction with other groups to do my best to reduce the risk of Covid19.
Within my setting I have various resources to compensate the lack of exploring outside the setting and with the children that currently attend their is a great deal of interaction with the older children and younger children mixing before school and after school.
I have large garden area with a 2 floor playhouse set among trees which the children love to use for role play, I have a large grassed area with various resources from inflatable slides/ bouncy castles ( these can only be used weather permitting )
I have a temporary room that I have built due to Covid19 giving additional space for the children with a free flow to the outdoor garden.
There’s is a mud kitchen area for the children to explore, climbing frames and various others resources within my setting allowing the children to have a wide variety of resources to help with their development in all areas.

A wide variety of board games are available for appropriate age and stage of development which have been a great success in bringing children together and creating a loving happy environment within the setting.

I follow a curriculum to provide the children with knowledge of festivals that are celebrated throughout the year, I provide the children with great opportunities to learn and develop from craft based activities including lots of messy play, free play, child lead play and adult lead play.

Each child is treated as an individual and their own interests help shape play activities / stations that are laid out giving the children opportunities to engaged in individual play or group play.
