About Me
I'm a dedicated childminder located in Chapelford, where I reside with my husband and our three wonderful children, aged 11, 6, and 2. With seven years of experience in childminding, I take great joy in contributing to the developmental journey of every child I care for. My passion lies in creating diverse learning experiences and providing opportunities for children to explore and understand the world around them.
Following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, I tailor my activities to each child's unique learning abilities and individual interests. Our adventures include visits to local parks, museums, libraries, farms, and soft play areas, often traveling by bus, train, or car to explore new places.
Being a childminder is more than just a profession to me. I strive to exceed expectations for the children and families under my care. As a mother myself, I understand the significance of entrusting someone with the care of your little ones.
My commitment to providing exceptional care has been recognized by Ofsted, with a Good rating awarded in January 2024.
My Experience
With more than 15 years of experience, I have dedicated my career to working with children aged 0-10 years. My background includes employment in both nurseries and preschools, followed by a two-year tenure as a nanny. It was during my time as a nanny that I realized my passion for childminding. Since January 2016, I have been pursuing this passion as a childminder, and it has been a truly rewarding experience.
My Qualifications
I have completed NVQ Level 2 and 3 in Childcare, as well as training in pediatric first aid, safeguarding, and food hygiene. Additionally, I hold a full driving license with business insurance, an Ofsted certificate, public liability insurance, and business car insurance. I have also undertaken numerous individual learning courses to further enhance my skills and knowledge in this field.

Gemma is amazing at providing a safe and engaging environment for the children in her care. I have sent both of my girls to Gemma before they started pre school and already plan on sending my future child to her. She varies the activities she does daily with the children including trips out and activities at home. As a parent she is approachable, reliable and compassionate. She will go above and beyond to help you if needed.

as a first time mum going back to work i was a bundle of nerves leaving my daughter with a new person we went to meet her and saw how Gemma is with the children she cares for and she was really good and I've not regretted sending my daughter to her for a moment she's developing beautifully and Gemma is a big part of that she's a really big help and really put me at ease with the first transition and the settling in stage I can't praise her better my daughter is always happy and tired when coming home which tells me she has a great day when with Gemma and I couldn't ask for more she's alway there to help with extra thongs if needed she's very caring and loving and a really good choice

Well we were very nervous in finding a babysitter for our 4 month old and 3 year old son . But after meeting gemma at her house and seeing how great she is with children and how kind and caring she was with ours on the visit we agreed a date for her to babysit and we are very happy we did. She is fantastic and our children were very happy. Will defiently be asking her to babysit again.highly recommended babysitter !
