Hello my name is Karen and I am a mum to a 19 year old daughter (who has completed a paediatric first aid course). I provide a caring home from home environment where I believe that learning through play is very important.
We live in Beckenham near to Cator Park and in walking distance of Kent House and New Beckenham British rail stations and Beckenham Road tram stop. There is easy parking available for you to use. We are a pet and smoke free home.
I am an Ofsted registered childminder, with all the relevant qualifications and checks. My Ofsted rating is Good and I am happy to provide you with my Ofsted report.
We attend local baby/toddler groups, library play sessions, music groups, lots of parks and outdoor activities and we do lots of crafting. In the school holidays we do day trips out which have included, museums, farms, the seaside, pumpkin picking, Christmas trips etc.
We have a song/music time and stories every day. I am used to working with very young children and strive to make sure they feel safe and cared for in a fun and stimulating environment where they are encouraged to be kind to each other and have the opportunity to learn and grow to the best of their abilities.
I have been recently inspected by Ofsted and achieved a Good in all areas and this is what Ofsted had to say about me . ..
'The childminder is warm and caring and provides a calm, relaxed and welcoming environment. Children settle well and build strong relationships with her. Children clearly feel safe, secure and happy. Children are kind to each other and learn to be polite. Children are taught how to keep themselves safe and they develop positive attitudes to learning."'.
My Experience
I have over 19 years childcare experience.
I have previously worked for a children's charity that supports and mentors parents and children. I have also worked as a Nanny before starting my own business as a childminder.
I have lots of experience with very young babies and also have worked with twins.
My Qualifications
I am fully OFSTED registered, CRB cleared, and fully insured.
I hold a UK driving license and have completed the paediatric first aid course!
I have completed a CACHE Level 3 Home based Child minding Course.
I have attended and completed courses in Safeguarding children, CAF and Lead Professional in Practice, Early Year Foundation Stage training, Speakeasy, Positive Parenting, First Steps to Sign Language and Growing Together. And I continue to update my training and childcare education frequently.
I regularly undertake training to update all my childcare, safeguarding, early years education and first aid knowledge.
My Availability
My current working day is 7.45am-5.30pm but this can be flexible.
I am happy to work full time or part time and will do term time only if required.
