About Me
Hello, my name is Donna and I have been a childminder since 1999. I have two grown up children who are both graduates and I am married. All my family are CRB checked and are non-smokers. We also have a small cocker spaniel called Leila.
We have a purpose built toy room at the rear of the lounge which is well equipped, light and airy and a downstairs toilet. My garden is fully enclosed and secured with a locked gate. I have a 7-seater car enabling us to attend toddler groups, soft play, local amenities, do the school/nursery runs and make full use of the outdoors during the warmers day/holidays.
I try to offer a home from home child minding service encouraging the minded children to settle, grow and develop into happy confident young people. I try to help them to feel part of an extended family. Most of my present children have been coming since they were babies and still enjoy coming today.
My Experience
I am in my 24rd year as a childminder, having entered into this line of work when my own children were small as the shift work required for nursing was proving difficult to fit in around my husbands job.
As a nurse I worked in several different areas of work, some of which were child based.
Having had my own children and working in this area for many years, I have a wealth of experience, love and care to offer. As well as this, I am able to encourage the children's development and learning alongside fun activities.
I am registered with Ofsted and upon my last inspection in January 2018, I was rated Outstanding.
My Qualifications
I qualified as a nurse in 1985.
I completed my NVQ in Care, Learning and Development in November 2009.
I have a current First Aid certificate.
I have a food/hygiene certificate.
I have a safeguarding certificate.
I have been CRB (DBS) checked.
I regularly complete online webinar's in relevant areas.
I have under taken several other Ofsted approved training in childcare courses.
My Availability
I work from 8.00am ---- 5.30pm Monday --- Thursday as my core hours
I am able to take/collect from Waterside or Holy Family schools, or nursery during the day.
l presently have one full-time or two one part-time vacancy.

My Fees

My fees are £6.00 per hour.
There is no charge if I am off sick or on holiday.
