About Me
Hello My Name is Lisa Jane Batchelor
I am a home based childminder in the Netherton & local area offering flexible childcare service,
My setting offers a safe happy learning environment with lots of daily activities that cover all areas required for early years foundation children.
As a member of Forest Childcare Association I am committed to outdoor environment play a minimum of once a week.
With a Ofsted Grading as GOOD inspection carried out February 2020 .
I've been married for 25+ years with 3 lovely children 2 girls aged 28 & 20 1 boy aged 15 My family are very supportive & helpful in all I do , so much so both My Partner & my two Daughter have become my Assistants when & if I require any extra help, My Partner works for West Yorkshire Ambulance service for the pass 15 years & is a registered NHS Paramedic, our Eldest Daughter has completed 3 years studys of a degree at Leeds university in Drama left home to start her life adventure, on occasion she has helped within the settling. Our youngest daughter is now setting up her on online business with pet portraits & photography
I live with my family in a three bed roomed bungalow with a secure rear garden & Drive area in the outskirts of Netherton near wakefield which has very close links to the M1 motorway system & a beautiful rural setting with lovely walks & only a 5 minutes walk to the local primary school !
We also have a allotment which we spend lots of time in showing & helping to grow fruit & vegetable with the minder children of all ages ! They will learn how to grow & once grown how the food goes from ground , tree or bush to making food for there meals or snacks. Visiting lots of outdoor areas due to my principal of commitment to the forest childcare all year round. !
All daily activities are within your daily fees , I only ever ask for extra if it’s in school holiday time I might ask for a donation as they outings maybe more costly but this is very rare.
To make all new parents aware we also have pets , no child is ever left with any of our pets at anytime we risk assess on a daily basis .
We have
2 dog 1 are German Wirehaired Pointer called Jinny born 03/04/2014, a lurcher called Amber born September 2016. .
Rocket our 10yr + old tortoise unsure of age .

My Experience
I am Ofsted registered, qualified as childminder in 2014 but I feel I've lots to offer & plenty of experience with children of all ages both with my own three children & with working in my local primary school as a lunchtime supervisor from 2006 till 2014 with a short break when I had my last child & spending a lots of hours volunteering throughout the school in different classroom activities & day trips .

My Availability

Next availability is possibly for 2 / 3 fulldays is January 2026 next availability after that is September 2026 .
Due to 30 hr funding coming in from September 2025 for all working parents children from term after 9 months old my current intake of children will get first refusal of any extra hours I have available before I can offer it out to new children .
But Please ask for availability due to changes all the time
Services I offer :
I am open 45 to 46 weeks of the year
Monday to Thursday 7.30am - 5.30
But
Friday are term time only7.30 - 2.00
/ 4.00pm
For all ages from approximately Birth upwards .
My local primary school - is
Netherton J & I school drop off & pick up but from September 2024 I am looking at no longer offering wrap around care or s hook holidays for school aged children & concentrating on caring for early year children 0 - 3 yr olds .
Do NOT work Any Bank Holidays specially Christmas Day, Boxing Day or New Years Day , plus I have a minimum of 6 / 7 weeks holidays per year , which will be taken within school holiday due to having school age child myself.this may change from July 2025 as my youngest child will no longer be in full time education.

My Fees
- Childminding from £5.50 per hour
I offer either a part time & full time rate for EYFS children & school aged children I charge a set fee before & after school

Lisa is the most amazing childminder and it’s only with moving house that we are in the situation that we need to find a New childminder. She has really helped to cement routines which has led to us having a really happy little boy. She takes them all over and I love that they go to play group, French classes and that the outdoors is firmly in her ethos. The children are certainly never bored! The home cooked meals look delicious and we absolutely love the daily text messages which update us on the things that they’ve done that day. It means so much! She really treats the children like an extension of her own family Which is a great comfort when we can’t be there. I could not rate lisa high enough. I’m just gutted that she can’t be our childminder forever.
