About Me

My daughter is 9yo and my son is 12yo. I look after them half of the time (1 week out of 2) and I am looking for a nanny who can help me from 245pm until 7pm on 3 weekdays each week I am with them. I.e. up to 26 weeks a year, although some weeks might be cancelled if the me or the kids or you are away on holiday.

Each afternoon you are with me we would work things who does what out so that I can meet my professional obligations and so that the time I have with my children is the highest quality possible.

Pragmatically, you need to be able to drive my children around in your car. I would need you to help with school pick ups and taking them to and from after school activities. I might also need your help taking them to their mothers house or picking them up from there from time to time (or I can do it, we are divorced but amicable and we regularly tweak the schedule to accommodate the children's preferences and each others obligations; although we sometimes disagree, that the children must come first is a view we both hold).

I would also like your help with encouraging the children to do their homework, having fun with them, helping around the house, helping with errands and chores as they arose, and cooking dinner for us all (yourself as well if you wished, and although I wouldn't want your assistance past 7pm or pay you for that time, you would be welcome to stay and eat with us if you wanted to).

If it works for us both and is mutually agreeable, it would also be good if you could do more hours each week they are with me during the school holidays and possibly some extra evenings or overnights from time to time as well, all organised with plenty of advance notice.

Getting the right person for this work and making sure that the set up is good for me, my children and you is very important. I foresee this work continuing for the next 4 years at least, possibly longer, and it needs to work well for us all.

And so, as a selection process, I expect to have a call with you first for us both to ask questions and then maybe a second follow on call if either of us have further questions to ask. I am writing this on 6 June and I would like to have someone agreed and ready to start from 7 July (although the first day will depend on the schedule and might not be 7 July).
