My Experience

I started Child Minding after a long career as a Mortgage Adviser for a large retail Bank, but after becoming frustrated at being at work all of the time and missing out on watching my own children grow , learn and develop, I made the decision to retrain as a qualified Child Minding Practitioner, and now I love being able to look after other people’s children as well as being there for my own children watching all of them gain in confidence as every child I look after is unique and different.



I have completed the food standards agency better food better business requirements for childminders and have been rated 5 stars in food hygiene


I hold the Bristol Standards Frame Work certificate, this is awarded to the highest child minders in Gloucestershire, Devon, Cornwall and Bristol and is an important qualification that under pins everything I do including reflecting on my business on a regular basis.

I have previously been the nominated person in charge of Upton St Leonards local playgroup, whereby I had overall responsibility (this is a volunteer position committee lead of which I was the chair person)

I have previously been the treasurer of Gloucestershire Childminding Association.

I have previously work for Gloucestershire County Council as a lead practitioner teaching other childminders how to become better childminders giving support and training.

I have previously been registered on Excel Directory with Gloucestershire County Council for supporting other settings that are struggling.

I am currently a mentor for the childminder mentor programme for Ofsted working alongside the Department for Education.

I am a trustee of the British Association of Early Years (Early Excellence)

I have experience of special needs children and if this is something you are looking for in a Child Minder then I can tell you that my experience in this has come from my own personal experience as when I was a child I helped my mum and dad care for my disabled sister for more than 20 years and my own father is disabled (paralysed from the waist down) and I have experience of his care needs.

My Qualifications

As well as being a qualified Child Minding Practitioner, I am also a qualified Florist and I also have a qualification in Art and Design, a BTEC First Diploma in Business and Finance and a BTEC National Diploma in Travel and Tourism and hospitality, I also hold my Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice. (CeMap)

I hold a current first aid paediatric qualification and safe guarding children qualification and I Hold an IVQ level 3 Child Care Educator Certificate and a Foundation Degree in Early Childhood Studies and a full honors Degree in children an families 0-19 years old and I am a qualified SENco.

My Availability

Early Years children from birth until 4 years old. “Outstanding” setting based just off Eastern Avenue Gloucester we can offer the following facilities;
