My Summary
About Me
I am an Ofsted registered childminder. I have a spacious home with lots to do for children of various ages, including puzzles, educational (and fun) games, arts and crafts, books and toys.
I offer home cooking, have a garden suitable for children to play and do some gardening in, and plenty of ideas on how to keep a small child occupied.
Talking to children a lot is vital - even when my children were tiny I would read to them every day and talk to them and point out about all sorts of aspects about the world. After all, a key way to learn is through experience!
Being outside is great fun, whether it is walks in the park, going on nature trails, feeding the ducks, visiting Kew Gardens or Barnes Wetland Centre or simply going to the local playground. We also go on trips to other areas, ranging from visiting an animal farm, gallery, sightseeing in central London or visiting local stately home gardens.
It is important for children to learn about their surroundings and to be stimulated in different ways in a caring environment, so even doing every-day things can be an education.
I really love cooking fresh food, and believe that children should be able to get involved, and learn about where the different ingredients come from and how they can be used.
Getting messy is also allowed, so craft activities to help foster children's imagination is an important part of learning through play. Local play centres can also be a good source of fun and learning.
Living close to the library is also a great advantage, and our house is always full of books for all to read.
It is vital to work in partnership with parents, so I am always happy to discuss in detail the sorts of activities you may wish your child(ren) to do, and any suggestions you may have. I also produce a daily diary showing the things we do so that you always know what is going on.
My Experience
Having two children of my own, plus experience helping out in their school, means that I have spent a lot of time with young children in addition to my work as a childminder.

Janine has done an outstanding job caring for our daughter from the age of 1-4
She is incredibly organised which means that every day is stimulating, that my daughter learned a huge amount, was always safe and thoroughly enjoyed her time with Janine.
Some of the highlights of Janine’s setting are:
++Her creativity in entertaining the children. She takes the children out daily, to a wide variety of places which they love. She uses every opportunity to engage them - down to making echos under Richmond bridge and looking for letters, numbers and colours in Homebase. She does brilliant creative activities at home as well. My daughter still plays with a crown she made and I have various treasured mother day gifts courtesy of Janine’s care
++Her home setting is safe and nurturing. Janine is incredibly on top of all areas of health and safety and is extremely conscientious. She also feeds the children fantastic home cooked food using a wide range of fresh ingredients.
++She does a great job of keeping parents informed. Every day she goes through a page of notes to describe not only what your child has done during the day, but also notable things they have said, things they really enjoyed, any worries they had etc. Once a week she shows photos from the week as well.
I couldn’t recommend Janine more highly. My daughter will miss her now she is starting school, but I couldn’t have asked for a better start for her
Janine has looked after our daughter for two years between the age of 1 and 3 and is currently looking after our one year old son and we could not be happier with the care she is providing.
Both our children love going there in the morning and are very happy at the end of the day.
We are very happy with the home made food, physical activities and fun trips included every day. Janine is also always on top of her health and safety and is extremely organised and well informed.
Our daughter’s language really developed during her time with Janine and both our children adore the story times and library visits.
Janine always keeps in close contact with us and this has made us feel very safe throughout. At the end of each day we get a detailed description of activities and cute moments during the day. Once a week we are shown pictures of our children and occasionally we also get text updates during the day. She is extremely approachable and lovely to interact with.
Both of our children have blossomed in her care and we are happy to answer any further questions anyone might have.
Janine has been caring for our son for 18 months, and we feel incredibly lucky to have found such a caring, responsible and fun person to look after him.
We love the varied day she provides for him, including getting out and about, and some more chilled time with books and toys. The really thinks about the balance appropriate for the children in her care, and we're very grateful for this.
As well as having a lot of fun, I know that he has learned a lot from her (as English is not spoken at home so everything in English comes from her care). This has come from the medium of fun and play. He loves the other children in her care, including her own children.
The food is healthy and well planned too - and she takes into account the children's personal preferences and needs very well.
I truly couldn't recommend Janine enough. It's a tough decision to make when deciding upon care for your child, but she has become an important part of my son's life.
Feel free to contact me for more details (presumably via Janine, unless this site allows PMs) for more details and I can happily talk answer any more questions you have either via email or on the phone.

Janine has been looking after my son for over a year since he turned 1 and he and I could not be happier with the care Janine provides.
Janine provides a safe, stimulating and happy environment that my son clearly enjoys as he is always smiling and happy when I return to pick him up.
Janine ensures he gets lots of exercise come rain or shine and plenty of activities that help expand his growing mind.
I benefit from the fact Janine keeps me up to date with the day's events when I pick him up and sometimes during the day via text which really is welcome. I really could not be happier with the care my son receives.
