My Summary

My Experience

When I was 16 years old I done a paper round for my local Guardian where I had to deliver newspapers to people’s doors. I have also helped my auntie do Avon in Ireland which involved sorting out people’s orders, cash handling and delivering orders to their houses.
For two weeks I worked in St Peter’s and St Paul’s school as my work experience with my school. I worked with children aged between 4-8 years old helping them with numeracy, literacy, writing, reading and general day to day activities. Making sure all of the children’s work was filed away in their play, I had to write observations and take pictures of things they had created or playing with. Other duties involved assisting the teaching ,taking children to the bathroom, helping with snack time, getting them cleaned up for lunch and assisting them to the dining hall.
From July 2010 till 2011 I have been self employed as a nanny for a small family, looking after they two children aged 1 and 8 years old. My duties involved making dinner for the children, making sure they were bathed and put to bed, getting up during the night to fed the baby and change his nappies. I take the eldest to school, take them out on day trips and looked after them when the parents went out for the evening or to work.
I have studying childcare level 2 and 3 at Jace Training, which i really enjoyed as i love learning new things and expanding my knowlegde. I work in a private day nursery Monday- Friday with children the age of 3months to 4years where i read books to them, do activies, look after them why they play with toys, help support them learn new things, feed them if they need help. i also have a CRB check and i have done my first aid.
from 2014 to now i work at fennies days nuserys as a level 3 i have worked with children the ages of 3months to 30months. i stared off doing day to day tasks such as obsavions on my key children, doing nappies, help feeding the babies there bottle or feeding them using a spoon at meal time to support them. i suporrted my room leader within my room with display board to make the room a wounderful learning place. i supported my room lead with planning for each week. when i room lead wasnt in i would then room the room.
january 2017 to now i am currently a room leader Running two rooms with children aged 1 years to 2 and a half years. i support a number of staff with daily tasks. i do staff supervisions to support there needs. i have key children where i do observations on them one each week. i also do a planning sheet for all my key children to support them with there development. i mentor the apprentice to support them in there learning for them to become leve 2 and 3 by showing them what explted of them as a level 2 or 3.

i have really good organistion when it comes to running both rooms. i have routines put in place where staff know what there ment to do for the day. e.g. whos cleaning up after breakfast, snack, lunch and tea. who is putting the children beds out that day and putting them back.
on planning we have lot of fun activiy set up all day for the children development also all the toys are at children level for them to pull out at any time they like to give the children there own chioce.
we have 2 garden times a days where the children get to explore the outdoor and get to run around. we have lots of activity out in the gardren set up to e.g mud kitchen we also have a garden planning for this so each room can setup there own.
i have really good communication with parents and carers where every 3 months with have parents eves to discuss there children development and to talk about what we will be working on next. also have good communication skills when answering the phone to take enquires and general information about the nusresey.
as a room leader i had to do risk assessments on anything i though needed an assessments done on it e.g. new toys, broken toys, outtings anything broken within and round the nusersey i noticed.
i am also the health and safty officer at the nusersey i am currently at. i have health and safty checks such as checking the water tempers around the nuserwey checking the emergency lighting in each room. looking throght every rooms health and safty red floders to make sure everyone are going there room checks such a room set up checks, closing room checks garden checks, room temperes checks and writing down the things they have cleaned within there rooms e.g. floors, tables, chairs, sinks and all toys. i also have to check everyone 1st aid boxs to make sure they are all up to date with new things in side and make sure there all in date.
i am also one of the fire marshals at my currently nusersery. where week each i have to check them fire alams are working. i also have to do fire dills to test how long it take the children and staff to get out of the biulding. when outside i have to run in to make sure everyone is out and then do a register to check to make sure i have everyone outside saftly.
