My Summary
About Me
My name is Jean I am a Ofsted registered Childminder, I live on Prince of Wales Road short walk to St Helier Hospital . I am a mother and grandmother, roles that I love. I come from a large loving family and have many nephews and nieces of all ages where I have played an active role in their upbringing to date. I am also Godmother to 8 children the oldest now being 34 years old. As well as my personal experience I have considerable professional experience.
My Experience
After deciding to take a different career path from Corporate Business I worked hard to gain Level 2 and 3 in Child Care Learning and Development.
I have worked for a Children's Services department as well as working in nursery provisions and in a private school supporting children with SEND. I also have experience with new born babies, toilet training, Administering medication, Behaviour management and weaning.
I provide a safe, home-from-home learning environment where little ones have the opportunity to learn new skills and develop naturally using the EYFS framework. We teach children to be kind, respect themselves and others, have good manners, be independent and confident.
Within my setting I follow the EYFS framework which includes planning for activities and observation which will show your child's progress whilst they are in my care.
Let me give you a little insight into what we do at Ladybird. Each month we have a new theme, some of the themes that we have covered is under the sea; we looked at the different creatures that live under the sea we took a trip to the London Aquarium We went to Hubble down farm to see all the different animals and we visit the soft play centre. The children and parents took part in World food, parents cooked a dish and we all had fun in trying new foods. We are a family where we all help each other. This year we had such fun planting tomatoes, peas, carrots, cabbage, basil, sage, lavender, coriander, mint, thyme and onions there is so much learning potentials for the children in this, explaining that before the food reaches the supermarket they start as a seed which grows. I cater for all children from all different backgrounds. We are a diverse setting, activities and cultures are reflected in toys, books and images. Relationships with parents are developed, respecting belief systems. I am able to offer the 2 year old funding and 3 + 4 year old funding.

My son has been going full time with Jean and her team since he was 7 months old. Today he is just over 3 years old and we had to say our last goodbyes as he moves to school nursery in September.
Jean and her team have been brilliant, every single day. They are kind, understanding and loving. They go above and beyond to create all sorts of daily activities to keep all the children entertained, making learning fun. They are so brave, they even do day trips! Home made meals every day and a nursery-like setting tops the score. My son has learnt so much since he joined and we are really sad to leave however will keep in touch. I cannot recommend Jean enough, you will not be disappointed.

Thank you so much for your review. I am so privileged to have little man in our setting. He has brought so many laughs and his dancing out of this world. You have been wonderful parents who joined in with the world day cooking so the children can explore different creature food. Amazing will miss you loads
Jean
My son has been with Jean and the team for more than 2 years, starting when he was only 2 years old. Everyone made him feel welcome, and help to settled well. Jean and team always keep children entertain with creative activities both inside and in the garden. I love the fact that they're always celebrating special days to rise awareness or teach children about different cultures / history.
Communication at Ladybird is always very clear. Jean and team always discuss the child behaviour and if needed always check with parents about the actions needed, so the child is supported in the same way as at home.
There is also daily report send every evening to highlight the food that child ate during the day, and gives opportunity to find out what was happening during the day.
Overall, I really recommend Ladybird services to everyone! Lovely ladies caring about children and making their days fun! My son is starting reception now, and we will be missing Jean and her team a lot!!
