About Me
Hello, my name is Krissi Burgwin and I run an Ofsted registered childminding business called Krissi's Little Adventurers.
I have been married to my husband Richard since 2012, we have a daughter called Amy-Jane who was born in August 2013.
We live in a large detached house with plenty of indoor and outdoor space for little ones to learn and grow. I am a home from home setting with a large separate playroom full with a wide variety of resources covering all areas of the EYFS to ensure the children reach their full potential. I also have a large outdoor patio and garden area with lots of outdoor equipment suitable for all ages.
I strongly believe children learn and develop best when they are having fun so at home we enjoy plenty of creative activities such as painting, sticking, baking etc whilst also going on daily outings which includes visits to the park, library, childminding groups, nature reserves and other local venues. I am a member of the National Trust amd English Heritage and take every opportunity to go on new adventures with the children, we also love to take part in forest school activities weekly as part of our membership to the Forest Childcare Association.
My Experience
I, myself, went to a childminders from a very young age and growing up I knew this is what I wanted to do! I went to Stafford college and studied BTEC National Diploma Level 3 in Early Years and have had over 15 years experience working with children. I started by working in nurseries and schools and worked my way up to being a deputy manager at a before and after school club and also the manager of a holiday club in Colwich. Since then I have had our daughter and gained a mothers experience.
My Qualifications
I have a fully enhanced DBS
I have BTEC National Diploma Level 3 in Early Years
Current Paediatric First Aid
Level 3 Safeguarding
Early Years Foundation Stage into practice for childminders
Food Hygiene Level 2
Level 2 in understanding Autism
I have attended many training courses over the years and intend to keep up to date with these and attend new courses to further my training often.

I offer care between 7.30am - 5.30pm but these hours are flexible on discussion.

I accept tax free childcare and also 9 month, 2, 3 & 4 year old funding.

Krissi has been looking after our son in the mornings and taking him to school. Nathan absolutely loved spending his morning at Krissi's. Always excited to go in and always commented on all the things he would do while in care. Krissi has such a natural talent and amazing approach to children. She provides home away from home atmosphere, so Nathan never felt unsure of his surroundings.
I cannot recommend Krissi enough. She is just the childminder every parent want!

We really can't recommend Krissi enough. Of course, it's very nerve wracking trying to find someone you trust enough to look after your precious child but when we met Krissi, she put us at ease straight away. Krissi talked to us about her own experiences as a parent, her reasons for setting up her business and her passion for what she does. She had really helpful resources and information to hand, and we felt we got a real sense of who she is in that first meeting. Our daughter has been going to Krissi for about nine months now and we absolutely love her. Even more importantly, our daughter loves her! We wouldn't want to leave our daughter with anyone else now.
Krissi is warm and caring, practical and professional and hugely creative when it comes to activities and outings. Her home is kitted out with everything the children could need. My daughter clearly feels at ease and at home there. I particularly appreciate how well Krissi communicates with us. She's really thorough with her notes and updates and takes really lovely pictures too! -These things make all the difference!
We consider ourselves hugely lucky to have found someone who cares for our daughter so beautifully. She really is wonderful!

Krissi, is what can only be described as amazing! My youngest daughter has been going to Krissis for 3 1/2 years and absolutely loves it! My eldest daughter joins her in the school holidays and is always so excited to go! Krissi always goes above and beyond what we ever expected to get from a childminder! We feel so lucky to have found her ❤

Highly recommend Krissi, she is such a lovely caring lady. My daughter absolutely loves going there. On meeting Krissi, I felt very welcomed and at ease. When I heard her talking to the children she looked after, I knew I wanted my daughter to go there. They go on lots of fun outings and and exciting indoor activities too. I would not want to send my daughter to anyone else. My daughter settled straight away starting with Krissi. It is good to know you don't need to worry as Krissi takes such good care of them. A real home from home ❤️🏡 Krissi feels like more of a family member than a childminder. She always goes above and beyond.

Krissi has been looking after my son since September for a few days a week.
The moment we went to visit Krissi we knew that she was just what we were looking for in a childminder. She made us feel welcome and made a real effort in getting to know our son with a genuine interest in him. She was warm, friendly and organised and had all the necessary documents and paperwork ready for us to look through and discuss with her.
I loved that she took the time to ask us lots of questions about my son, what he likes to eat, play with, watch on tv etc and sat and played with him. We made our decision there and then that Krissi was the right person to trust with our son and we couldn’t be happier.
My son skips down his drive every morning excited to see her and never really wants to come home when I collect him in the afternoon! Krissi has also really helped me out when I’ve been ill and has accommodated last minute changes with no problem at all.
I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending krissi to anyone wishing to find an exceptional childminder.
With the healthy snacks and meals, range of activities, trips and outings. I couldnt ask for anything more, its a home from home and have NO worries leaving my son with her.
