About Me
My name is Andrea. I have been a Registered Childminder for 23 years.
Located in the south side of Rushden less than a 5 minute walk from Southend Infant and Junior Schools in a large detached house with ample parking. My setting is clean, light, modern and airy. We are lucky to be so close to the schools with no busy roads to cross and little legs don't get tired after a long day at school. I have worked closely with both schools for 15 years.
I offer a modern day approach to early childhood, taking mainly inspiration from the nurseries of Reggio Emilia in Northern Italy, as well as a pinch of Montessori, Te Whariki and Steiner, which all contribute to make up my setting which creates a culture of awe, curiosity and wonder which are embedded in the heart of the service and setting I provide for the children.
As a small setting, I am able to focus on and adapt to your child’s style of learning. All children are unique and so are their learning styles. It is my job to make sure that the best opportunities for learning are as individual as the children in my care. Adopting the Reggio Emilia approach means building firm relationships with you, the parents, as well as your child. I know that each family unit is unique, so I adapt my environment according to the needs of the families in my care. This creates, healthy, confident children who are happy to take risks, in a safe and challenging environment.
I have a cat called Dexter.
I offer term time, school holidays, part time and full time hours.

After I was let down with CC arrangement I contacted Andrea at short noticed, she was wonderful, quick to respond and accommodated my request and questions quickly. On the day, both my girls (8&9) settled and loved the time they spent with Andrea. Asking when they would next be able to go.

Andrea has been absolutely amazing helping me out last minute with childcare before and after school! She is lovely and extremely helpful, my little boy loves going to her before and after school! I would highly recommend her 😊

We are so lucky we have Andrea as our sons childminder for the 12 months, she is amazing always happy, friendly, supportive, flexible to help, and is great friend. Prior to finding Andrea we visited other childminders and nurserys but none of them felt right, as soon as we visited Andrea's it just felt perfect and knew this was where we wanted him to be, all the children were happy and smiley and loved the environment.Our son struggled to settle to start as it was the 1st time away from us ever. Andrea was so patient we went through a plan together and increased hours weekly until he was settled, Andrea provided us with updates / photos through the day to reassure us he was OK and having fun. Amir absolutely loves Andrea and can't wait to go each day, he loves the home to home environment, the activities arranged each day, the lovely set up reflects in all the children as they are all so happy which in turn we are happy and reassured our son is safe, happy and secure.

My daughter is under Andreas’ care since she was two years old. On her first day, she cried a lot, and I was very close to giving up. But I trusted Andreas’ calming words and experience, jackpot! Now Libby says: “Andrea is my friend, and Alfie (her cute dog) as well!” She doesn’t even wave to me goodbye anymore, just goes straight into the house. Andrea´s home is always welcoming, very clean and well-organized. Libby has a lot of fun playing with all of the toys. I like that we are informed over the phone with pictures of Libby´s activities so afterward, we can speak with Libby about her day and what she did. I am also happy that Andrea has her dogs over there because cuddling with them helps her relieve stress.
Andrea is a very, very responsible person, empathic with a lot of experience. Highly recommended!
