(Last updated August 2024)
I am a registered childminder, I am registered to look after 4 children under the age of 8 between the hours of 8am until 5pm. I am open to discussions regarding additional hours/flexibility.
I have always had a passion for working with children. I put the child's welfare first and strive upon getting the best from them.
I live in Tredegar, I live in my own home with my partner Danielle & 2 year old daughter. I have my own car.
My Experience
I have been a registered childminder for over 5 years. I have 5 children under the age of 8 on my register, but this can change/ I will have spaces available so please contact me if you think I meet your criteria.
My previous work was as a Nanny to two boys under the age of 10. Their mother worked as a nurse so the shift patterns were varied however it was mostly a 6.30am start with me waking the boys at 7.15, if they weren't already awake, preparing breakfast & packed lunches if needed, ensuring they had what was needed for the school day. I would then drive them to breakfast club. I would start work again at 3.15 to pick them up from school. We would then go to their house where I would prepare a healthy snack & they would have some play time before doing any homework or reading. If the weather was nice the boys were allowed outside to play but they would keep in contact with me to where they were going. They had boundaries which they were to stay within. I would then prepare an evening meal for them before they would shower/bath & then they would watch a film before their mother came home at 8pm.
Before this position I worked as a nanny to a 5 year old girl, I went to the family home in the morning, woke her up, helped her wash & dress, then prepared breakfast & her school bag. I would then drop her at school retuning to pick her up at the end of the day, we then partake in age & weather appropriate activities, I prepare a snack & shower her before finishing for the day. out of 5 days I work till 9pm so on this day, I also prepare her dinner & put her to bed. Once every two months I do a week of nights where I stay at the family home overnight when the mother is working.
Previous work/experience:
*worked with young adults who are aged 16+ however due to learning needs or disabilities their reading or writing age is lower than their actual age.
*work placements through my college course- 3 Primary School's with children aged 6-7 & Private Nursery with children aged 0-4.
*Children’s Activity Camp in Northumberland for a company called Kingswood. They are a U.K Provider of Residential educational school trips. I worked as an Activity Instructor where I provided activities such as; Aero-ball, Circus Skills, Rock Climbing, Den Building, Fencing, a range of I.T Sessions, Field Games, Indoor Initiatives, Outdoor Laser Zone, Nightline, Orienteering, Parachute Games, Problem Solving, Quad Biking, Team Challenge, and Volleyball.
*Summer camp in Cardiff called Kings Camps, I worked there as a Nursery Leader for the Summer Holidays in 2009. I worked with children aged 3-5 in a sports environment and tried to encourage the children into Sport activities and also encouraged them to learn about the world so we held different days where we would plan and carry out activities based on a city such as Italy, France, Wales, We also included Nature days. We also took the children Swimming in the on-site pool.
