My Experience

I was a childminder for 10 years while my children were growing up. I looked after children of all ages from 3 months to 10 years. I have stayed in touch with most of the families.

From March 2011 I worked for a family in Gosforth having sole charge of 2 girls. I worked for them full time and started when the youngest was 12 months old. I did school runs with the eldest and age appropriate activities with the youngest. including trips out, toddler groups also play dates. I left in September 2014 when the youngest started full time school. I still see the family at least twice a year and the eldest has just finished her second year at UNI

From Sept 2014 I worked for a family in Heaton as a nanny/housekeeper. I looked after 2 children, a girl 5 and a boy of 3. I did nursery and school pickups. Took the children to afterschool activities, and as the parents had no family living close by, I also did occasional babysitting. When mum was working away, I also did light housework for the family, a little ironing and shopping. I tried to keep things as normal as possible for the children.



From 2016, I worked on a postnatal transitional care ward in a local hospital. Part of my job was helping new mums establish breast or bottle feeding. Also, getting babies into feeding routines.

I am currently working for a family 2 days a week. I've been with them since January 2023 looking after their little boy, who will be 4 in December.

• Babysitting from £11.00 per hour

13.00 an hour day time nanny work.
£11.00 night time babysitting.
Overnight negotiable
