My Summary
About Me
I was an Ofsted Registered Childminder for around 5 years (Emma's Little Explorers), but stopped as the needs of my own children changed. I currently work as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in a specialist school for children with communication difficulties.
I live in Haslemere, Surrey with my husband and three children. I have two teenage daughters and my son is 9.
My Experience
I really enjoy playing and interacting with children and loved running Emma's Little Explorers for 5 years, where I got great satisfaction from helping children learn whilst having fun.
I have experience from my own children and in my current role as an Occupational Therapy Assistant at a specialist school in supporting children with a range of additional needs, including ASD, PDA, and ADHD.
I have undertaken various safeguarding training, CPD courses, and am DBS checked.
I am a calm, patient and friendly person who enjoys caring for children, and am now available for babysitting or part-time nannying.
My Qualifications
I was previously an Ofsted Registered (Rated 'Good' in all areas) and undertook training to be a Surrey County Council Quality Assured Childminder
Enhanced DBS check
Previous Paediatric First Aid and Epi Pen training
I also have a BA (Hons) in History and War studies.

We love Emma’s Little Explorers (ELE) and our daughter has been attending the setting for over 20 months, since she was one. From the outset, ELE has been a home from home environment; safe, and full of fun and friendship, enabling our little girl to grow into a confident, independent and happy little person.
With the support and care of Emma and Lee, she quickly took to her new surroundings and really enjoys all the engaging, planned activities (both indoor and out - ELE has a wonderful outdoor space with chickens!) that are prepared to support her developmental needs and learning journey.
The level of communication we receive from ELE is great, ranging from multimedia updates throughout the day (with photos), complemented by a formal record of development via ‘Tapestry’, an online learning journal.
Both Emma and Lee are very warm, caring practitioners and we cannot recommend their care or setting highly enough. The level of attention and support that our daughter receives gives us complete confidence that this is a truly special place for little ones to grow and flourish.
Emma and her colleague Lee are the most wonderful childminders and finding them was such a gift.
Emma has looked after my now 3 year old son for the last two years. He has always loved his time at Emma's Little Explorers beginning on the very first day he started. The setting has been perfect for us, it is small, friendly and homely with a beautiful secure garden with lots of toys, climbing equipment, games and some lovely pets, Ralph loves the chickens!
It is a wonderfully nurturing setting where Ralph is so happy and has made some very special friends. The opportunities he has had every day to try out so many different activities, use the mud kitchen, play with sand and water, get messy, paint and explore has been amazing and he has developed so much. He has loved the trips out with his friends and the walks they have together.
We will be very sad when it is time to move on but Emma will always remain a very special friend to our whole family. The care Ralph has and continues to receive has been exceptional and I can't recommend Emma Little Explorers enough.
My son was with Emma for a couple of years. He was 14 months when he first started going. Prior to that he hadn't really spent much time away from me, so I was expecting the worst with the settling in sessions. But Emma was fab and we slowly built the hours up to a full day for when I needed to start work.
Emma’s setting is lovely and we got to meet her wonderful children, who were all very polite and welcoming.
We got regular updates throughout the day via WhatsApp and each day the daily diary was filled out explaining what he had been up to that day and what he had achieved.
Emma would set out weekly themed tasks for the children to take part in. They all enjoyed a variety of activities from baking, arts and crafts and free play in the lovely garden.
Emma always welcomes feedback and likes to know what the children have been enjoying outside of her setting so she can incorporate activities whilst they are with her.
Emma definitely made the transition of going back to work full time as smooth as possible. I would 100% recommend Emma's Little Explorers. Can't thank her enough for everything she did for my son, he adored her.
I used Emma's Little Explorers during the school summer holidays to provide care for my 2 daughters, aged 5 and 7.
Emma has a fabulous home and garden and was extremely welcoming to my 2 daughters. They had a lovely time and enjoyed a variety of activities including time in the garden with the chickens and guinea pigs, structured arts and crafts, dressing up and free play. Emma's own children were very willing to share their toys and play with my girls.
Emma was great at letting me know how the girls were getting on during their first day and what they had been up to when I collected them.
Emma is a wonderful, caring mum who was as loving towards my children as she is to her own. I would definitely recommend her.
Emma recently provided last minute childcare for my 7 month old daughter. I had previously only used a nursery or my mother so was admittedly nervous about using a childminder for the first time.
I was reassured almost immediately. Firstly Emma's home is lovely. I also met her three children - who are an excellent selling point for Emma's childminding skills. They are polite and charming but also bubbly and funny - clearly very well brought up and loved.
Emma went through a very thorough process of establishing my daughter's routines and took great care to talk me through her qualifications.
I will definitely be using her again, and that's the best recommendation I can give.
