About Me
I work in a local Primary School as an HLTA, covering teachers classes from Reception to Year 6. I'm available in the evenings and weekends. Preferable tutoring from my house near Twickenham Rugby Ground but can come to houses if close by. Also able to tutor online. 1hr - 1 1/2hrs.
Happy to tutor in a small group if your child has a friend/class mate who needs help/support too. This would be at a lower rate
I like to make learning fun, and develop the child's confidence in subjects. Happy to contact teachers for advice on areas of improvement.
In all my roles, as a Outreach worker, SEND Adviser, Early Years SENCO, Special Needs assistant, Teaching Assistant, and Primary/SEN tutor, I have worked alongside families providing support and advice on how to help their child achieve their full potential. Helping them develop positive family relationships and develop their confidence, by providing strategies, and coping mechanisms. Developing a strong relationship with the family, always being approachable, calm, patient, and having a good sense of humour. In all my roles, I work on my own initiative, tackling challenges/solving problems. Over 20yrs acquiring a range of qualifications in Early Years, and experience in Special needs.

Previous Employment:
SEN & Primary School Tutor developing an individual learning program, by observing the child, working with parents, multi agencies where necessary (speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, paediatrician, Educational Psychologists, to determine which specific areas need to be covered and to define the tuition goals and objectives.) Using Visual timetables, ABA Therapy, Makaton( when necessary). Managing behavior and implementing a range of strategies. Finding ways to help with focus/concentration, so they can achieve SMART targets/goals.
I have previously worked as a Lead SEND Adviser for the largest day nursery in the South East. Ensuring all children with SEND are supported, and able to achieve their full
potential, through regular monitoring and planned, evaluated programmes of intervention.
Implementing SEN Planning, EHCP and SEND strategies. Training and supporting staff. I would run 1:1 intervention groups.
Working in a nursery as an Early Years SENCO, I would provide information/support to families about the Local offer services/support/funding for children with additional needs. Also PREPARING applications for EHCP'S. Supporting and advising Key Workers, Learning Support Assistants to include children’s needs in the setting. Reviewing individual children’s Target Plans termly. Liaising closely with parents and professionals when identifying children’s needs and planning for intervention and support.
Also I've worked as a Teaching assistant, and SEN Assistant in a local Primary School. Providing learning support for pupils in class, 1:1 or intervention groups. Supervising and providing support for pupils. Running intervention groups – EAL, Math’s, Handwriting, Phonics/Blending/Spelling, Touch typing, and Sensory groups
