My Summary
About Me
I am an enthusiastic, caring and professional nanny and night nanny who loves working with children and their individual personalities. I am always keen to interact with children by getting down to their level and engaging in conversation with them. My passion really falls in the care of infants and children in the early years, and this reflects in my strategies to encourage a strong social development in the children I care for, as well as providing an educational environment.
After studying for the last 4years I have achieved my degree in Midwifery, and have just began my new career as a midwife.
I have a large family who I am very close with, and who have been involved in my nanny career, both adults and children. I currently take an active role in both of my nieces, 11years old (Isabelle) and 6 years old (Amelia), development by volunteering within Isabelle's school class, undertaking roles such as helping with phonics and writing skills, assisting in mathematics lessons and taking an active role in the social development of all 28 children. I also assist with school trips and maintaining the classroom. I care for Amelia on an ad hoc basis and try to use all the local facilities as well as individual activities that encourage her learning when she is in my care. I have been lucky to be able to include them both in my nanny positions and they have also played an active role in socializing with the children in my care.Within my previous nanny roles, I have also volunteered at the charges settings (school and nursery), and will always commit myself fully to the role. I have references from all my voluntary roles.
My Experience
Having been a nanny for 9 years, i have had many nanny positions. These positions have been working with age range of newborn, singletons and triplets through to teenage years. These have been a mixture of fulltime part time and nights, mostly sole charge with some shared care roles also. I have been responsible for meeting all the child's basic needs as well providing a stimulating environment, developing a strong and secure relationship with children and liaising between the parents and the schools/nurseries. Dealing with household chores, communicating with other professionals in association with the children, ensuring a healthy balanced diet and planning suitable activities to engage the children were all part of my role.
Throughout my training, I have continued to provide extra childcare to numerous families, supporting families both during the day and nights. I have worked with newborns including singletons, twins and triplets, through to the teenage years. I do a lot of ad hoc nannying outside of work hours and give up my weekends up frequently. I have made strong bounds with all the family's I provide childcare for and sometimes see them on a social basis too. I have references from all my employers.
My Qualifications
BSC Midwifery at the University of Hertfordshire.
I have a Diploma in Childcare and Education - Level 3.
I have an up to date First Aid qualification.
I also have Business Class 1 insurance on my car which covers any children in my car if I have a accident.
I have nanny liability insurance from Morton Michel and update this on a yearly basis.
I am not currently Ofsted registered, but have been in the past and I am willing to do so.
I hold other certificates such as Basic Food Hygiene, Child Protection and Understanding the Revised Early Years Foundation Stage.
My Availability
