About Me

Hi my name is Lisa Leonard and I am the fully insured and accredited Ofsted registered chilldminder behind Precious Oaks Childminding. I offer a high standard of quality childcare in my home in Downham Market. I am married and have two children, my daughter is 23 and my son is 20. I have a 2 year old dog. My interests are mainly with children and all the wonders that come with them. I open my doors to many children and their parents in my role as a childminder, my house can be full of fun, noisy and busy and is destined to always be so.
As I am accredited and on the Directory of Providers I can provide the three year and two year funded places, please ring to find out more about this. I have three assistants working for me, two at a time so you get three adults for the price of one! All assistants are first aid trained, have their child protection and DBS checks, like myself. This enables me to provide a busy but quality, loving and caring childcare where standards are high, independence can be developed and there is a wealth of learning opportunities, both structured and flexible, to help children achieve their goals and promote their self-esteem.
I understand how hard and important it is to choose childcare so it is my aim to work alongside the parents to be flexible and ensure their child settles in, are happy and I will help support them develop socialy, physicaly, intellectually and emotionaly. As a parent I couldn't decide if I needed a childminder or a nursery so I have based my setting on being in-between the two. Not as busy as a nursery but busier than a normal childminder as I have assistants working for me. I have lots and lots of toys, do plenty of activities and a varied amount of outings, supporting children and giving them the opportunity to have fun in a warm safe environment, whilst learning at the same time. It is my aim to provide children with the best standard of care, I encourage each child individually to acheive their learning goals, giving positive praise and encouragement. I want to ensure the children in my care become healthy, happy and confident individuals as my priority is to keep children safe and happy but above all, to have FUN!
