My Summary
Early Years Educator Level 3 Qualified Childminder
About Me
I'm a mum to 3 children and believe in creating a home from home environment for all children in my care. I have a Christian ethos and use these values and principles within my home. I welcome all children and parents, I strive to provide a loving setting where all children can flourish and reach their full potential.
I firmly believe that children learn through play and thrive in an encouraging positive environment. Any child that is in my care is treated uniquely according to their needs. I have 3 children and they love having other children in the home and treat them as part of the extended family.
I have an Early Years Educator qualification and
work with two assistants to offer flexibility and support for the children in our care.
I hope that when you're looking for someone you can trust with your most precious child that you will consider me.
My Experience
Before I became a child minder I previously worked as a skills development manager and as a learning and development manager. I believe the skills I used in the workplace are transferable and I've been able to implement these as a child minder.
I work in line with the EYFS using various means of play to engage and support early years development with the children. Some examples are messy play, outdoor activity, cooking.
Children are guaranteed to have access to outdoor play in a secure area at my house and also to have the opportunity to go on visits, examples of some of the places have been: Eureka, St. Ives, Julia Donaldson exhibits and much more. These opportunities are all used as valuable learning experiences for the children.
My setting is in a detached house in Oakenshaw with an open plan layout.
I have a conservatory that I use as a playroom. I have good size gardens to the front and the back. The back garden has play equipment and is fully secure.
My location is ideal for access to the M606 and M62 via the Chain Bar roundabout.
I offer 2,3 and 4 year old funded places.
I am Ofsted registered and have public liability insurance.
I am fully DBS checked.
I have my level 3 paediatric first aid and various other child minding certificates that I can produce on request.
I am a member of PACEY.
I offer a settling in period and welcome visits for parents to consider my setting.
My Qualifications
Completed an 18 week childminding course with Kirklees Council and have completed various childminding online courses.

My daughters have been to Carolyn since they were 10 months & 6 months old.
We honestly couldn’t wish for a better family to help look after our children.
They are always learning through play and gaining new skills.
Carolyn also does an assessment based on age and ability.
There’s at least 3 staff which is rare for a childminding setting so the children can be doing different activities. We always have a bunch of artwork from them both which is always lovely to receive.
They are so reliable and so helpful if you ever need an extra day and they can accommodate.

Thank you Sinead for such a lovely review. A pleasure caring for your beautiful girls!
Our daughter started to be looked after by Carolyn just under 2 months ago and she enjoys every day in Carolyn’s care. She loves the social aspect of being with children of different ages and the home from home setting has allowed for consistency in her development. Carolyn’s approach to care has given me great confidence and reassurance when going back to work as she keeps me up to date with Thea’s progress throughout the day. Thea seems to have fit in very well with Carolyn’s family too and she has made fast friends with Carolyn’s three lovely children. The children are often outside playing (when we have the weather) and there are planned weekly adventures to different local places. I have seen the development in Thea at home and she even took her first steps in Carolyn’s care!
Great setting and great values helping us to bring up our daughter in the best possible way.
My little girl has recently started here, and I honestly don't even know where to start. She has progressed and met major milestones in such a small period of time. I couldn't have found a better childminder, Carolyn one hundred percent puts everything she has in to looking after your children. I haven't ever felt as comfortable as what I do leaving her within Carolyn's care. My daughter has such a fun time but she's also learning new things every day.
I can honestly say Carolyn goes the extra mile, to make both children and parents feel welcome. She treats my daughter just like her own and it's clear with how much respect my little one has for her. I feel it's really important in any situation to do with children you become a team, and with Carolyn's help and advise not only has my daughter progressed generally but also at home too. I'm excited for months to come to see her progress even more. Thank you ever so much Carolyn. Again highly recommended!
My little boy Jaxon has been going to Carolyn's since he was 5 weeks. She has taken amazing care of him and has helped his development. Her home is spotless and spacious and she always makes me and my parter feel welcome when we collect Jaxon.
My son William (now 14 month) has been in Carolyn's care since January 2017 and since then he has come on leaps and bounds. He was very reluctant to leave my side at first (as I was him) but Carolyn made the whole transition so much easier with pictures and progress updates daily. Now the little monkey gives me a kiss, waves me off and doesn't look back - off to play Mummy!
Carolyn's setting has a very warm and welcoming feel to it, her 3 children are an absolute credit to her. All very caring and polite, William loves them all dearly and they play so well together. It definitely has that home from home feel, which I desperately wanted for my little boy.
Carolyn has recently had her house renovated to cater specifically for the children, they eat all their meals in the dining room together, she has a down stairs toilet and the conservatory/extension is a huge play room designed for all ages full of educational books and toys. The children also enjoying playing in the enclosed back garden which is fabulous, William loves to play in the sand pit with her youngest son Elijah.
William has come such a long way in a short time and I feel like I've been part of it all - From his first steps, to now running around with the other children and starting to talk. Considering I didn't know Carolyn prior to her looking after William, I feel like I have known her for years and we regularly talk about William's progress. Carolyn is very accommodating and will always try her best to implement all the changes I request. Eg. Routine, nap times etc.
Overall I could not ask for anyone better to take care of my little man, she does a fantastic job!
