About Me
My name is Alka and I live in Horley with my son who is 14 years old.
I live 5 minutes from Horley train station and about 10 minutes from Gatwick airport.
I have moved from London to Horley in April.
My house has enclosed gates at the entrance and garden.
I hold a full clean driving licence.
I can offer the following:
I provide a safe, warm environment, where children learn through exploring and play.
Fun days out to the farm,childminder groups parks, library for story times and walks to the park to feed the ducks.
On a daily basis children always have access to sand and water play. Other activities include are painting, baking, music and crafts.
I provide good quality childcare.
I provide toys to meet all age ranges and meet needs of the Early years Framework.
I have a good size garden with outdoor toys.
All children will have there own profile to show there progression
My Experience
I feel a lot of my training has been with my own child, you can never stop learning in childcare and my current job as a team leader in a children centre which has enabled me to provide a high quality , play based learning environment , by implementing the EYFS. I also have experience of working with SEN children on groups and individual. I attended regular training to keep up to date with the current legislation.

My Fees
- Childminding from £7.50 per hour
My fees are £60 a day that includes all meals.
Also includes play session. I offer 15/30 hours funding. And tax free payments. My working hours 7.30-5:30

I call Alka our guardian angel.
When I had just brought my son back from Africa, I was very naive about the entire education system and childcare for UK. I contacted Alka through this childminder website and it is the best thing I have ever done.
Alka responded promptly and she had solutions to each and every thing. She is very encouraging , supportive and extremely positive person.
She made me feel at ease with the way she spoke to me. When you are speaking to her, you feel like you have known her for ages. No wonder she is very good with kids and kids adore her. She is someone you can relate to and definitely someone you can trust with your kids. My son is always asking me when he is going to spend time with Alka.
When my partner and I tested positive for COVID, Alka extended her hand to us. She brought for us medicine and the necessities to our door yet we hadn’t even started doing business with her yet. Because of this, I confidently say that Alka isn’t in this job for money. No. She is in this job because she is caring and she has got a big heart.
I could hire her a million times over and over again.

Alka looks after our daughter 4 days a week is absolutely amazing with her. We chose a childminder rather than nursery as we wanted a ‘home from home’ environment and Alka has exceeded our expectations. They have developed a very close bond and our daughter is so happy and content. Alka provides an excellent range of activities, including going to local playgroups, that keeps our child stimulated and aids her development. Alka provides a daily diary which gives us a great summary of the day’s activities and the key skills that had been worked on that day.
We would have no hesitation in recommending Alka to other parents and we feel very fortunate to have such a kind and caring individual looking after our daughter.

The lovely Alka looked after my LO previously when in London. He absolutely adored her. I was previously very nervous about leaving my only child with anyone but I can honestly say its been wonderful. My son has come on leaps and bounds and is a very happy and confident little boy which in part is due to the loving caring support that Alka provided. The peace of mind that it gave me to know that my child was in a happy safe environment, where he was constantly being stimulated and experiencing new fun challenges can not be underestimated. I would definitely recommended her as a great child-minder.
