Hi my name is Vanessa Carey, I live in South Belfast with my husband and 9 year old son.
I have a clean driving licence and own a car.
I consider myself to be a friendly, caring and patient person with excellent communication and organisational skills. I'm also very hardworking, highly motivated and reliable.
I have 16 years childcare experience, working with various ages, needs and abilities. I have worked in schools, nurseries and private homes.
I believe all children are special and unique and deserve to be happy and cared for to a high standard. I love working with children and find it to be an interesting and rewarding career.
I especially love teaching children new and fun ways to learn through arts and crafts or messy play! It's a joy helping children build confidence and seeing them grow ! Other fun activities I'm very good at implementing are imaginative play,
singing and dancing. I also enjoy being outdoors with the kids playing football and trips to the park.
My hobbies include, reading ,walking ,running and spending time with my family
My Experience
I started my career as special needs teaching assistant in schools. I then wanted to gain experience in the early years sector so I worked in a nursery. Following that I worked as a support worker looking after a child with cerbal palsy for two years.
After having my child I trained as a baby massage therapist and taught parents how to safely massage their babies. I also regularly did babysitting in the evenings.
We moved to Grand Cayman in 2019 and for last five years I have worked in private schools as a teaching assistant.
I have now returned home to Belfast with my family and available for envening babysitting.
Tutoring available for early years math, English and phonics on request.
My childcare experience is from 1plus.

Vanessa has been caring for our two young boys, transporting them from school and looking after them in our home for a few months. She is trustworthy and has easily won their trust and ours. Vanessa is friendly, flexible and easy going, yet able to provide discipline and structure. We have no hesitation in recommending her to anyone considering her services.

Vanessa looked after my daughter for 3 days while my regular childminder was away. My daughter isn't great with strangers and I was worried she would not settle but Vanessa was great, she kept her busy - took her to the park and playgroup, and put my mind at ease. I would definitely use her again.
