Hello, my name is Gillian Brand. I am a fully qualified childcare practitioner running Little Giraffes Childcare from my home in Duloch. I am married with two teenage sons and a 7-year-old daughter.

I pride myself on creating a warm, home-from-home environment where children are welcomed into our family-like setting. I am a caring and reliable mum with high standards, committed to supporting your child’s learning and development through engaging play experiences. Working closely with parents, I provide a nurturing, flexible service tailored to meet your child’s individual needs and your expectations.

Our home features a bright, stimulating playroom and spacious living areas filled with toys, games, and arts and crafts materials. The garden offers a large grassy area with year-round access to a variety of toys and play equipment, providing ample opportunities for outdoor fun.

As a Partnership Provider with Fife Council, I can offer the 1140 hours of Funded Early Learning and Childcare (ELC) for eligible 2-year-olds and all 3 and 4 year-olds. You can choose to split these hours between nursery and myself or use them entirely with me, offering you flexibility and choice.

Children in my care enjoy a wide range of experiences, including outdoor adventures like forest and beach walks, park visits, and local explorations. I also arrange meet-ups with other childminders and their children, giving the children opportunities to socialise and play with their friends.

I encourage healthy eating by providing nutritious meals and snacks, always considering the children’s preferences.

I am registered with the Care Inspectorate, and my most recent inspection (December 2018) is available on their website. Additionally, I am an insured member of the Scottish Childminding Association (SCMA).
