Katy Green has been working for our family on an ad hoc basis since October 2023. As well as looking after the children at our home she has performed such duties as picking them up from school, dropping them at friends’ houses and taking them to various activities including swimming lessons. She has often had to cook an evening meal for them after school and on occasion get them ready for bed.
The children - a boy 8 and girl 5 - love her coming to look after them and love playing with her toddler daughter whenever Katy brings her along too. She has always been punctual and followed instructions, using her initiative when instructions were lacking in detail! We very quickly felt comfortable leaving the children with Katy and are able to go to work knowing the children are well looked-after, cared for and having fun!

We were lucky enough to employ Katy for 2 years between 2019 and 2021. She was a consistently excellent nanny for our then 3 year old twin daughters. She was always punctual, calm, friendly and flexible around variations in our schedule. Our girls loved spending time with her and woke up in the mornings asking whether it was "a Katy day", and were always full of chatter and enthusiasm at the end of the day. Katy is great at taking children out for long adventures outdoors, and engaging them with nature. She was excellent at managing two small children at once, and giving them both lots of attention- and I have no doubt she would care for more than two children at once equally well. We all really miss Katy and are very grateful for all the help she gave us, and wished we could continue employing her for longer! We are happy to be contacted with any further questions.

Katy is an absolutely incredible nanny. She started looking after our identical twin
boys when I returned to work in August 2018, and stayed with us for just over a year. The
boys were 14 months when she started and sometimes she was also responsible for their
older brother (almost 4 when she started). She is professional, caring, knowledgeable and
totally unflappable. We recommend her without hesitation. Here are some examples of
Katy’s attributes:
● Caring: Katy loves playing with the children and always puts their needs first. She
has enormous reserves of patience and a calm manner that reassures them and
de-escalates those tense moments. She somehow manages to get two toddlers and
a preschooler to behave well without ever raising her voice. She became part of our
family and the children love her.
● Observant: within weeks it felt like Katy had a really good grasp of the different skills
and preferences of our identical twins, and over the year she often pointed out things
they did differently that we hadn’t spotted which was very helpful.
● Knowledgeable: Katy’s quiet manner belies a wealth of knowledge and experience,
fostered by a real interest in child behaviour and development. She has an excellent
grasp of children’s sleep requirements. For example, she helped us to make a new
nap routine when I returned to work and to transition from two naps to one. She
helped us enormously through tricky times - e.g. resisting naps, teething, bedtime
struggles - with advice that worked. She also is very knowledgeable about children’s
health and is first aid trained which has been useful on occasion e.g. spotting a low
temperature.
● Efficient: I don’t know how she does it, but when the children are asleep she gets a
lot done (washing, cooking, tidying toys, preparing activities!). It’s amazing.
● Inventive: Katy hs a huge range of ideas for children’s play that we would never have
thought of, or wouldn’t have wanted to tidy up. She is also a master of designing
elaborate train tracks.
● Respectful: Each family has its own rules, habits, quirks and just a way of living that
works for everyone. Katy respected our systems and very quickly fitted in which just
made everyday life very easy.
● Flexible: Katy was happy to switch days and do extra evenings if we asked her to.
This really helped fit around work trips, holidays etc.
● Reliable: in over a year with us, Katy has never been a single minute late to work!

Our family recently moved to the UK with 3 1/2 month-old twins. It was an overwhelming and stressful time made manageable by our lovely nanny, Katy! After speaking to several people, we chose Katy based on her professionalism, attention to detail, and experience. From the first day, she was unflappable. Dealing with twins is not easy and Katy handled the challenge beautifully. She was punctual, clean, and always pleasant. She worked with the twins, encouraging tummy time, reading to them, and making sure they got outside every day on walks through the village. She was knowledgable about the area and recommended parks, play groups, and activities. Both my son and daughter would light up when she came in the room. And when they got cranky, Katy remained calm and in control. Katy's experience was invaluable and she was able to provide insight about teething and developmental milestones that we, as new parents, lacked. When we had scheduling emergencies or needed to shift dates and times, Katy was flexible and extremely adaptable. I cannot recommend her enough! We moved from the area but would hire Katy again in a heartbeat. Trustworthy, warm, and very capable!

Katy started working for us in January 2015 and has been a valued member of our household for (18) months. At the time of starting, our daughter was 1 years old and our son was 3 years old.
Katy looked after both children, taking our son to and from Pre-School twice a week and ensuring our daughter was lovingly entertained throughout. She has actively sought out local groups and has proactively setup playdates with my children’s friends and family. Both my children have formed strong, loving bonds with her. Katy is calm and even-keeled even when confronted with the particularly challenging behaviour my son can exhibit at times. Her attitude to disciple and her engaging nature has endeared both of my children to her.
Overall, she has been a conscientious, calm and upbeat presence in our home.
Katy’s stable presence has allowed my husband and I to focus on our work, especially as she has been available to flex her days and/or hours according to our changing schedules.
Once again, I highly recommend Katy for a nanny position. In case of any queries regarding her qualifications and abilities, please feel free to contact me on my phone number or email address

Katy has been with us for the past year and in that time I have found her to be extremely helpful, always happy to muck in whatever the task.
She is kind and considerate and provides a stimulating and caring environment for my 3 and 9 year old girls.
She is with us full time from 7.30 – 6.30 and is always punctual. The girls adore her and she is very good at getting down to their level and playing, nurturing and learning with them whilst still letting them know who is in charge.
Unfortunately we have moved locations due to my husband’s work and therefore have not been able to continue her employment. We would love to have her coming with us!

I employed Katy for 2½ years as a sole charge nanny for my 2 children. She started when my daughter was just 9months old and took on the additional role of caring for my son from birth in December 2008.
Choosing childcare was extremely difficult and like any parents we wanted someone competent that we could trust fully and feel confortable leaving our child with. Katy proved to be the perfect choice. She has a great personality for the job, being well mannered with good common sense and morals but also fun loving, imaginative and encouraging to the children. She is very knowledgeable about all aspects of childcare across all age groups so not only was she able to provide an excellent standard of care but she could also put forward ideas and advice whenever I had any problems or questions as a new mum.
As the children grew and our needs changed, Katy was more than willing to adapt and take on new responsibilities. She helped with sleep routines, prepares meals, educational games, took them on outings, pre-school, often helped with cleaning/laundry and in general provided a varied, safe and stimulating environment for the children. She worked well to instruction and communicated with me on a daily basis. Her timekeeping was excellent and she was reliable even at short notice when needed.
Most importantly Katy has been like on of the family – my children love her and were excited to see her every morning so I was able to work full-time without worrying. Sadly our situation changed and we moved away from the area but we still keep in touch to this day and I am more than happy to recommend Katy to any parents.

Katy worked with us for about 3 years. She became an integral part of our family and worked wonders with our children. She is very personable and will love and care for your children as I they were her own. Katy managed to make even the most mundane of tasks fun for the children to do, including tidying up! We miss her very much and wish we were in a position to have her back. Any family is lucky to have her join their unit.
I am more than happy to offer references if anyone should need them.
