As a setting we are very outdoors with a designated play space which is free flow to our playroom.
we have an allotment space so the children can explore and learn about growing their own food. We also have a private woodland where we play and explore.

My Experience

Prior to childminding I worked at a children centre as a family support worker. I loved meeting people in the community and passing on my passion and knowledge to help support their children.
I have run a successful Childminding business in Bedfordshire for 5yrs before moving to Norfolk where I have quickly establish my buisness and reputation and have been thriving for almost 3yrs.
I provide care for children in Early years 0-4yrs. I believe in following children's lead in their play to find the key to their learning, I provide a very nurturing environment for children to be confident and develop through their milestones.

Becky is an absolutely amazing childminder and our son has had a great time in her care and has developed so well. She is always out and about doing something with the children and giving them new experiences. Becky also has a lovely family who welcome her other little ones with open arms. We would have put our second child with Becky in an instant but she has relocated to Hevingham in Norfolk so we weren’t able to. This is our loss and Hevingham’s gain. We have been to see her new house and childminding area and it looks perfect. There will be some very lucky, excited and happy children enjoying it when she re-opens in September.

Our son started with Becky at Flutter-by Childminding when he was only 13 months old. When we were looking for a childminder as I had to return to work Becky was our first choice through recommendation but unfortunately for us she was at full capacity and we had to look elsewhere.
Our son started with another childminder but it was apparent that he was not settled there and was upset each time he was collected which was completely out of character for him. By chance we saw that Becky had a space coming up and made enquiries and managed to secure a place for our son.
He only had one settling session with Becky as he settled immediately and from the first full day that he started with Becky he was so happy and was smiling when I dropped him off to go to work and also happy when I came to collect him at the end of the day and Becky provided us with updates during the day for our reassurance. This was such a relief that he had settled immediately with Becky and had resumed to his happy, smiley self which made the transition of returning to work so much easier.
Becky is an outstanding childminder and we couldn’t ask for better care that what Becky provides. Becky is very friendly, professional and offers the best childcare that could be asked for.
When looking at childcare we made the decision of a childminder as from my own experience of working in a nursery over the years both as a nursery nurse and deputy manager a childminder can provide much more flexible care and opportunities for the children in order to help promote their development to the best of their ability and also have that ‘home from home’ feel.
Becky does just that and goes over and above for all of the children within her care and each day is full of fun and exciting activities and outings for the children and she has an extensive imagination and our son is always coming home with lovely creations.
Our son is made to feel as part of the family when he is at Flutter-by Childminding by Becky, her husband and their children. Becky has three boys who are kind, friendly and polite and are caring towards all the children that Becky has within her care. Our son really enjoys his time at Becky’s and spending time with her children and looks forward to school holidays when he gets to see and play with them more.
Becky is very knowledgeable within her profession and is supportive to us as parents. If we have ever needed any advice regarding our son’s behaviour or development we have never hesitated to ask Becky for her advice and would work together to get a positive outcome.
Becky is great with communication and continually updates us with our son’s development and this is recorded through an online tool called ‘Tapestry’ which we have found very useful to see photos of activities that our son has been enjoying and how they contribute towards his learning.
Becky has been graded as ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted which is very much deserved for all of the hard work that she puts in for the children and families that she works with.
Becky will be missed by all of us as a family and we cannot recommend her enough to future families looking for exceptional care for their children. As Becky is moving out of area we have made the decision that the next step for our son is preschool as we know finding another childminder as good as Becky will be impossible to come by!

We had no idea just how amazing Becky was until we tried to replace her when she told us she was moving. When we first met her, we didn’t bother interviewing any other childminders as we immediately felt content leaving our (very clingy, non napping, hardly eating, breastfed) 1yr old with her. We were incredibly lucky that Becky had a vacancy coming up as she’s always in demand. Becky worked absolute miracles for our little one. She now throws herself at Becky in the mornings, and doesn’t want to leave when we pick her up. We’re absolutely devastated she’s leaving and whoever she looks after next is very lucky. As parents who practice attachment parenting, we were very comfortable with Becky’s approach towards our daughter’s behaviour and development.
Since meeting a host of new childminders to try and replace Becky, here are the things about Becky we appreciate and probably took for granted
- Becky takes the children out and about, nearly every day. They’re always at the farm, or forest school, or the zoo, or building dens in the woods, or some other fun activity.
- Becky has 3 lovely polite boys who absolutely adore our little girl. They play together after school and provide even more opportunities for socialisation. This means our daughter is surrounded by other children which helps prepare her for preschool.
- Becky thinks about the development of her children, and goes the extra mile to aid their learning E.g. she takes them to playgroup in an area that is more culturally diverse to teach the children about different backgrounds and cultures, rather than sticking to local groups in our small village.
- When our daughter started with Becky, she wouldn’t nap in a cot and got upset at being put down. Becky was happy to help in any way and our daughter slept in a sling on her chest for a good few months until she was ready to sleep in a cot on her own.
- Becky supported us when we said we’d like to use cloth nappies, even though it’s nowhere near as convenient as disposables.
- Becky meets up with other like-minded childminders who also provide socialisation and stimulation for our daughter.
- Becky provides a daily diary of what our daughter ate, her nappies, sleep, and activities. She also sends photos/videos and updates an online tool called Tapestry that tracks their development over time. This is invaluable information that gives insight into what your child did that day, and follows the early years curriculum.
- On a daily basis our daughter comes home with something new she’s created. Whether its biscuits she’s made herself, a wooden creature from forest school, hand art or lovely mother’s/father’s day gifts, the activities Becky does with the children are so imaginative and fun, we can only hope to replicate them at home!
- Becky makes healthy and varied breakfasts, snacks and lunches so we don’t need to worry about preparing food in the morning.
There are many more things that make Becky an outstanding childminder that I haven’t listed here. If anyone would like to hear more from a fellow parent, I’d be happy for her to pass on my details.
Becky, thank you so much for looking after E, we really do appreciate you and will miss you. We wish you all the best in your new adventure xx

My little boy has been attending flutter-by childminding for over two years now and he absolutely loves it! Finding Becky was the best decision made, as my little boy had already previously attended a nursery. Becky offers a wide range of activities both indoors and out and quite often takes the little ones on trips out. We meet Becky at my daughters school and my little boy gets so excited when he sees Becky's car. Rory is set to go to school in September and will miss Becky so much, luckily he will still be attending flutter-by in the school holidays. Anyone looking for a childminder, I can truly say you will not be disappointed, Becky is so friendly and warm and caring towards all the children in her care. 5* all the way.
