All about me
Hi my name is Verity, I live in Chapel-en-le-Frith with my husband Scott and my beautiful children. Ava born 3/3/2011 and Seth born 7/6/2016. I’ve always had a passion for working with children and I did my NVQ 2 and NVQ 3 in Childcare and Education whilst working in a private day nursery in Stockport. I did this for 17yrs until Ava started school but then I found the travel was too much. So I decided to get a job more local to me at Aldi where I stayed there until I had my second child Seth. That’s when I realised I wanted to spend more time at home with Seth and be around more for Ava. I wanted to be able to take her to her activities after school so I decided to start Childminding. I really missed working with children, Knowing that everyday is different and fun.
I offer a home from home environment for the children to learn and develop through play. I provide lots of different activities at my home crafts, baking etc but I also use the local facilities, playgroups, parks and the local library. We will also go on walks etc.
About my setting
Me and my family live in a lovely end mews house which is set back of the road in a nice quiet cul-de-sac. We have an enclosed private garden with parking at the front and side of our house. We have allocated spaces which I will explain to each of my parents when dropping and collecting your child. I pride myself on having a safe, clean and smoke free home. The children will feel secure with a little routine so they will know what to expect. However, all routines should be flexible and I do adapt the activities to the individual interests of the children. I allow children to choose what activities they want to do because child-led play is important. It gives the child control over what they are doing which improves their confidence and keeps them stimulated. The children are taught to be independent putting their coats on, shoes, hats etc . I provide a safe and nurturing environment for your child to reach the best of their potential but most of all to have fun and smile.
