About Me

I am an Ofsted REGISTERED CHILDMINDER living in Bolsover. I have a sunny disposition and a wealth of qualifications and experience.

There is plenty of space at my setting for the children to explore giving opportunities for playing with others or having quiet time.
The outdoor space is enclosed and comprises of paved and decking area with a large grassed area too with a swing and other garden toys to enjoy.

I am passionate about provide stimulating, varied and fun activities such as:
- Messy play...Play dough; painting; making things; discovering rice/pasta/oats, sand and water play; aqua doodle
- Creative/imaginative play...making dens; dressing up; art; small world; baking; storey time.
- Outdoor play in the garden and at local parks, animal sanctuaries and special days out at theme parks, the seaside the fire station etc

There are many places to visit in the local area including Bolsover castle (where we are frequent visitors!), library, farm park, children’s centre and play parks.

These activities are all in line with the Early Years foundation stage and are provided in a safe and caring home from home environment. I aim to engage children through my enthusiasm, using their interests in play activities which in turn helps to build a child’s confidence.
Children in my care would not simply be ‘watched over’; they would be encouraged and supported to develop their skills, abilities and confidence.

My Experience

Two years of volunteering In the holidays whilst at school ignited a passion for supporting people less able than myself. I volunteered at a play scheme for children with disabilities.
For the majority of my career I have worked with children and young people, which is very rewarding. I have taught special needs and people with Mental and physical disabilities which I am very passionate about.

This job gave me the insight to “think outside the box" and create unique opportunities which considers the needs and interests of all in my care.

I have a portfolio full of my various job roles and other training I have attended. Please feel free to come and have a look around and a chat about what I offer, I feel my setting has a balance between a home from home childminding setting and a bright, child focused environment similar to that of a nursery.
