My Summary
About Me
I live in a large family home with my husband, Bobby, and 2 children. Erin 17 and James 11.
I am OFSTED registered and I am a member of the Professional Association for Childcare and Early Years (Pacey).
I have a dedicated playroom complete with a playhouse, reading corner and all the toys, equipment and resources needed for a stimulating and fun day of play and learning. In addition, I have an outdoor play area with chalkboards for mark making, play kitchen for making mud pies, ride ons, sand and water play.
I love the outdoors and being out and about and as such the children in my care will be taken out daily to play groups, the park, the farm, the beach, country parks, the library etc. I have a 9 seater minibus which is perfect for taking the children and all our needs out safely and comfortably. I have a trailer which can be attached to my mountain bike to allow us to go for bike rides.
I aim to provide a welcoming, secure and stimulating environment that will enhance child development through a wide variety of play and activities to encourage every child to reach their potential. This will be achieved by the following:-
• Create a secure and happy environment that is sensitive to the needs, preferences and beliefs of all children and their parents/carers.
• Build on children's experiences of family life by developing a trusting relationship with all families and working in partnership with parents/carers.
• Encourage children to be confident and independent.
• Develop social skills through the interaction with other children either at my setting, at play groups or with other childminders and their children.
• Recognise the significance of play and provide suitable opportunities for children to enjoy active learning experiences.
• Offer children rich and stimulating experiences by planning and organising the learning environment.
• Carrying out regular observations and using these to monitor progression and to plan the next steps.
• Develop imagination, creativity and positive attitudes to learning for all ages.
• Utilise the outdoor environment to ensure that the children have the opportunity to explore and play in freedom and safety, nurturing their attitudes to living things, their community and their environment.
• Offer a clean, no smoking environment in which to learn, rest and play.
• Encourage healthy eating/drinking and lifestyles.
• Promote good work and play behaviour, with respect for both children and adults alike.
• Encourage politeness and manners at all times.
• Promote and encourage personal hygiene practises.
I know that no one knows your child better than you do and I believe that children benefit most from my setting when parent/carers and I work together in partnership. I look forward to discussing and sharing your child's Learning journey with you and to working together to help your child flourish, to be ready for school and beyond..
To keep children safe and prove that I am a suitable person for childminding I have completed a DBS check and have registered with the DBS update for both myself and for all members of my family that share my home, aged 16 and over. I am also registered with the Information Commissioners Office.
In addition to looking after your child(ren) I also aim to support your needs for need childcare to pursue education, training or employment.
