About Me

My name is Tracy Wooldridge I am an OFSTED registered outstanding provider. I have just moved to Bicester I am a fun, creative and caring person who enjoys supporting children’s learning and development. I achieve this by providing children with a wide variety of planned stimulating activities and outings based around the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) and their own personal interests. I enjoy making my own resources to support learning and encourage children to use their imagination, which I believe helps them to build and extend learning experiences. I believe one of my strengths is preparing children for ‘school life’ therefore encourage independence, social, communication and listening skills through a routine of fun activities. One of my biggest beliefs is that a child’s learning is at its highest when they are interested and engaged in what they are doing. As well as spending time with children I enjoy going to the theatre and being outdoors, especially long woodland walks which is something I hope to share with the children in my care (especially puddle jumping and welly walks).
I’m married to Karl who is a postman and hands on family man and I have three wonderful children. My eldest Jessica was born in 1994 she is a year two teacher and expecting her first child. Then there’s Christopher who was born in 2001 and loves football in particular MK Dons and Jamie, who was born in 2013 and keeps me busy as we learn, play and explore together.

My Experience

As well as having three children of my own, I am lucky enough to have had over 20 years experience and a vast range of jobs working with children. These include a Preschool room leader, Preschool Supervisor, Deputy Manager, Nursery Manager and before becoming a childminder I spent almost 4 years working as an Early Years Coordinator in a Day Nursery registered outstanding by Ofsted. My role as an Early Years Coordinator involved leading a team of 18 nursery practitioners and inspiring them to meet personal goals. I returned to childminding in 2015 so I could be at home with Jamie while continuing with a job I love. I enjoy planning a range of monthly activities based on a different topic each week, as well as supporting the children's interests and celebrating special occasions and events. As well as giving parents daily feedback,I share information about what we have been doing through a news letter each month and send pictures to parents daily. I have built many special relationships with children and parents over the years and have enjoyed keeping in touch with families and watching the children I have cared for grow. I also enjoy arranging regular play dates with childminding friends and taking the children out to local toddler groups, parks, farms, woodland etc. My favourite visits have involved taking the children to our local care home where we took part in activities with the residents such as sports day, remembrance day and having a Christmas party, it would be difficult to explain how much joy that brings to everybody's day.

My Qualifications

I had my first OFSTED inspection in may 2017 and was graded outstanding. I have a number of child care qualifications along with the Childminding introduction programme which include a Foundation Degree in Early Years for which I spent two years studying at University and passed with Distinction. Other courses I have completed included the NNEB, Food Hygiene, Communication, Language and Literacy in the Early Years, Children Thinking Mathematically, Early Years Foundation Stage Observation Assessment and Planning, Specialist Safeguarding, Manual Handling, Slips Trips and Falls, EYFS networks and updates and I also have an up to date paediatric First aid qualification. I ensure I keep my training up dated by taking part in webinars, training sessions and socialising with other child minders sharing information and ideas.

Our daughter started going to Tracy’s setting when she was around 16 months and will unfortunately stop when she begins school.

I cannot communicate how invaluable Tracy has been not only for my daughter but for us aswell.

After the first lockdown my daughter was extremely socially deprived, she took a long time to settle into Tracy’s environment. Tracy was so calm and patient and reassuring for me and her father. My daughter has since come leaps and bounds thanks to Tracy.
Tracy has always been very supportive to us as parents and helped us navigate the world or post covid parenting. She always takes the time to listen to our stresses and concerns and always seems to know the right thing to do.

We have daily information with pictures of what my daughter got up to on her days with Tracy. Tracy has a fun way of teaching the children using interesting and out of the box ideas, my daughter loves and tries to recreate at home.
She has different themes each week with different learning objectives making each days fun and interesting. The children always look like they are having so much fun.
We will really miss Tracy in September and I will be so lost without her. We cannot thank her enough nor can we recommend her enough for anyone seeking a childminder, who will show genuine interest and care towards your child.

Thank you Emma that’s means so much to me. I will miss you all and hope school goes well. Stay in touch 😊

Tracy and her family provided a superb childcare setting for our son who started going to her from when he was one until he was three and a half (he only left because he began attending a school nursery and Tracy moved away to be nearer her family). Right from the start it was very clear why she had been rated outstanding by OFSTED. Her environment was safe, fun and extremely well organised. We were given a welcome pack which contained all the information we needed, including how she structured the day; references; photos; all relevant policies and the food/meals planned for the children. For our son's first year she kept a daily diary which we took home everyday, she arranged settling in sessions for him (he went two days a week 7:30am-5pm) and the development log she kept showing his progress against the EYFS was amazing and something will we treasure forever. Her home became our son's second home, he loved going there and she was so supportive if we had any behavioural issues and when we began toilet training. Every week had a different theme and we were given information about what was planned in the month to come and how the activities had gone the previous month. What really impressed me was the range of activities they undertook inside the house and on trips out which ranged from visits to Chessington World of Adventures; Hampton Court Magic Garden; parks and playgrounds, playgroups, Brooklands Museum; libraries; garden centres and to a local care home. Significant cultural events throughout the year were always incorporated too like Diwali. We would receive photos and updates over text everyday (once the daily diary had finished). We were gutted when Tracy told us she was moving away as we were planning for our second child to attend her setting. I'm not sure we'll ever find anyone as caring as Tracy, they are very big shoes to fill.
