Welcome to Time To Grow!
My name is Sally and as well as being an Ofsted Registered Childminder, I am also a Qualified Primary School Teacher, specialising in the Early Years Foundation Stage (development of children aged 0-5 years). As we as being a teacher, I have also had my own pre-school which has very recently had a good inspection from Ofsted. I have lots of experience in different roles of helping children to learn through play, in order to reach their full potential in all areas of their development.
I have returned to childminding as a full time role so that I can run a smaller setting with more opportunities to spend more time with individual children in a home environment. This will also give me more opportunities to take the children out and about within the local community and beyond.
I also have availability for after school care for children attending GREEN STREET GREEN PRIMARY SCHOOL, including holiday care.
I have been running my own childcare business for several years and I am extremely enthusiastic about my business, as I love working with children, getting to discover their individual personalities and helping them to develop a love for learning!
I offer a welcoming, fun, educational and home from home environment. In my family home we have a lovely garden for children to enjoy, where there are 2 rabbits. I also have a very friendly and chilled dog (so unfortunately cannot take any children with animal allergies)..
I am located close to Green Street Green Primary School and Chelsfield & Orpington Stations.

My Experience
I have 20 years experience of working with children from babies up to 11 years old, as well as being a Mum.
I first started working with children when I set up my own successful childminding business. I used this experience to move into a school environment as a Teaching Assistant in Reception, a role which I loved and wanted to take further. I spent 4 years studying to become a Qualified Primary School Teacher, whilst being a full time Teaching Assistant and Mum! After teaching for a couple of years, I returned to childminding in 2015 and then also opened my own pre-school in 2020 (Ready Steady Grow). I am now returning to childminding full time once more :)
Having worked primarily in Reception, Year 1 & 2 I have developed a deep knowledge and understanding of how to deliver the Early Years Framework and how to support children's individual needs. I have undertaken substantial training and have a vast amount of experience of working with children with diverse backgrounds, needs and personalities! :)

My 2 year old has been looked after by Sally 2 days a week from Feb 2024, my husband and I are very happy with Sally and couldn't fault her.
Louie loves being with Sally and her lovely dog Mya who my son is obsessed with! We always have art work sent home with us, Louie has had a birthday and Christmas present and a present for our new daughter which is so thoughtful and lovely.
Sally takes the kids out in her car to local toddler groups, the town, various parks and walks locally which is fab and she has a lovely setting and garden to play with too when atm home.
Sally cooks homemade meals and provides lovely snacks throughout the day and sends lots of photos and a description of the day dedicated to my son in the evening by WhatsApp which we love to read.
We would 100% recommend Sally to anyone needing a childminder in Orpington. 😊

My son was one year old when he started going to Sally’s. He used to be quite clingy, and I was really anxious about how he would react to being apart from us. Sally was amazing. She was patient and attentive, and he settled in quickly with no issues. He has become confident, independent and thrives in her care.
The children have regular days out and are always doing something fun and educational. Sally sends pictures at the end of the day, and it’s always great to see how much they’ve done and how happy everyone looks.Â
My son is lactose intolerant. Sally was great at accommodating that. She provides healthy meals, including lots of fruit and veg, which I really value.
I recommend Sally to anyone who is looking for a safe, fun and pleasant setting for their child.

My children have been at Time2Gro since 2015 and we could not be happier. They were 1 and 4 when they started and now they are 7 and 10, so they have really grown up there! The wraparound care is fantastic, with a good structure and relaxing home environment. The holiday-time full days are also full of activities and fun with plenty of outdoor time and fresh air.
The communications are also good - professional and timely with photos sent during fun activities and a clear passion for the children and their well-being.

Sally looked after my daughter (who is now 7) from when she was just 1 year old. We loved her kind and caring nature but also the huge range of activities she prepared for the children as well as wonderful days out during the holidays. Her communication was amazing too and her experience as a teacher and in childcare was clear to see as my daughter thrived in her care.
My youngest daughter has attended Sally’s pre school since it opened and we felt so fortunate that she was also able to benefit from Sally’s care and experience.
I cannot recommend her services enough.

Both of my boys (ages 6 and 9) have been with Sally since they were 4 years old and my wife and I are very happy with the care and setting she provides. Everything from the healthy balanced meals, encouraging kindness and etiquette and the outings/experiences during the holidays get a big thumbs up from us.
