About Me
*Please contact me if you need a babysitter :)*
Hey! I’m Amy Sessions! A very optimistic, bubbly and happy 29 year old. I have been a Nanny/Nanny,PA for the past 12 years and absolutely love what I do! I would describe myself as caring, thoughtful, creative and I always want to bring the best out of someone.
My main passions in life are singing and song writing, so there’s lots of writing stories, poems and songs with the kiddies I nanny for!
I absolutely adore working with children and babies and I truly believe it was my life purpose. It makes me so happy to see a child smiling and laughing. To know I helped towards that is so lovely and rewarding. I come from a big family so have always been around the family buzz! :)
I know the area of Bishop's Stortford really well as I have been here since July 2016. I know many fun playgroups, stay and plays and classes in Stortford and the surrounding areas; even on a rainy day I will find something fun for us to do! I love having fun with the children I nanny for whether that's writing silly stories, having a mini Olympics in the park or putting together a show for the kids to perform, taking them to the splash park, building dens or searching for colourful hidden rocks in the woods! There's never a dull day and I'm quite good at being spontaneous. I also appreciate when the children need a quiet day and on these occasions we would pull out the board games or head to the local library :)
My Experience
I have lots of experience which ranges from new borns all the way up to teenagers. I babysit regularly for local families in Stortford and surrounding areas. I still get asked to babysit for my old families in London where we moved from and I have references for all of the families I have worked with. These are available on request. :)
After finishing my Health and Social Care Diploma at College, I went straight into my first position as a live-in Nanny/Nanny,PA for the Reid family. Their little boy was 9 months and the little girl was 4. I was with the Reid family between 2012 and 2016 and although it was very sad to leave, I loved starting a new chapter in my life. I still have a great relationship with the parents and children. We are super close and they were even page boy and flower girl at my wedding!
Since moving to Stortford, I initially cared for twins once a week and did regular babysitting for this fabulous family in school holidays. Having started working with them when they were only 2, it has been so rewarding to see them grow and teach them words and numbers while seeing both their personalities come through.
I also worked with a wonderful family in Stortford for around a year after I first moved to the town. I got to look after two sweet girls (aged 3 and 7) and it was great to explore the area with the girls and find cool new places as the family had only just moved to the area too!
After this I worked for a High Profile family where I was looking after three incredible children in Hertfordshire. I started when the baby was 12 months, the boy was 5 and the eldest girl was 7. I was there for a year. I took the baby to lots of different play groups, taught her basic sign language and helped nurture her development. Then it was time to pick the older children up from school for homework and dinner duties! :) I also nannied at the parents wedding renewal, which was stunning!
For the past five years I have been a nanny for two wonderful families on different days of the week. Both families are like family to me! We have such a lovely bond and I feel so lucky that this has been the case for so long. This was strengthened throughout the coronavirus pandemic. It has been amazing to see the children grow up and start school and I am lucky I still get to regularly see the children through babysitting.
After leaving both of these families, I got reccomended a family to work with doing Nanny,Pa duties. I am taking care of two girls, age 1.5 and 6 years of age. We attend regular playgroups, classes and do lots of role play. I take care of the girls beds, laundry, make a nutritious lunch and dinner as well as tidy their playroom and do school pick ups. I make sure school holidays are super fun and enjoyable for both ages.
I also occasionally nanny for a childcare company that specialise at weddings. I am part of the creche team and the babysitting team. This has been a really fun opportunity, super busy and super rewarding!
