Childminder with a difference-Oxford
A home from home setting. Where children can access any activity they wish and follow their interests. Along with adult led opportunities learn something new following the EYFS curriculum. Access to a secure grassed garden and outdoor space.
I include the curiosity approach, forest school, and Montessori activities.
Cooking and Art lessions.
I take children out weekly. To trips in the local community. To childrens groups, the library story and rhyme times. Parks including wooded areas. Museums, and art galleries.
Examples of activities include daily singing/ music and interactive story times including props and puppets.
I am a trained qualified artist we do lots of creative play, Playdough discos, arts and crafts, messy play.
I have a kitchen/ role play area.
In the garden we do den building, gardening, and nature activities.
I have a positive, friendly attitude and a caring nature which I find helps children feel secure in my setting.
I am empathetic to children’s emotional and physical needs. And very motivated to help them learn, and develop.
I work in partnership with parents and have an opening trusting relationship with them. I WhatsApp daily photos of your children and show you what we have done in the day.
Provide 2 year development checks.
I am informed and have a dialogue with Oxford Council keeping up to date on training.
My Experience
I come from a large family, and I have always been around children.
As well as childminding, I have experience working as an Early Year Educator in a nursery.
I am Ofsted registered Graded Good in 2020, and have trained in home child care and have passed the CACHE course. I passed my forest school paediatric first aid. And safeguarding level 3 this year. I have also attended Developing baby and Characteristics of effective learning training along with continuing my professional development.
I have a BA in fine Art and can keep the children entertained with Art based and EYFS inspired activities. I make activities appropriate to children's needs, age, development stage and interests. Helping them grow in confidence.

Ann Marie was the first person to watch our son as he transitioned into a care setting. We were so nervous how he would adapt away from his parents. We were also nervous for the energy he might bring into someone's home!
From the very first visit, Ann Marie put us at ease. She paid close attention to who our son was and what he needed. Getting out and about every day, doing arts and crafts, and lots of physical activity (in addition to books and cuddles) made it a very fun and safe setting away from home. It didn't take long before our son was excited to go in on the morning.
We owe her much gratitude for navigating such an important stage of our son's life with care.

Ann Marie is not only an incredible, knowledgeable childminder but she's a wonderful human being. We really wanted our children to go to a personal, home environment that included outdoor activities. We didn't like the idea of our kids being inside all the time. Ann Marie goes above and beyond to do this and tailors her activities do fit the children's ages and the nature around them.
Our eldest who is now 3.5 went to Ann Marie from 8 months to 2.5 years old and still goes to her during half terms and summer holidays. Our youngest currently goes to her and has been for nearly a year. We've had numerous comments about how developed our children are physically and verbally and we always say it's down to Ann Marie. She spends so much time reading to the children and tailoring activities to help them thrive and develop in all aspects of life.
Speaking to other friends who have children, no other childminder is as dedicated, devoted and passionate as Ann Marie.
We can't imagine our lives without her which is why our boys will be going to her during the half terms until they are 18!
We adore her and don't know where we would be without her. We truly believe our kids have had the best start in life because of her.

My 2 year old was looked after by Ann Marie. I had met other childminders but none put me at ease or interacted with my child so amazingly as Ann Marie did. She listens to what routine your child has and what their likes and dislikes are (and quickly told me some new likes from activities she had arranged). She has a mountain of resources and sets up lovely themed days, celebrates their birthdays etc. She sends through photos everyday and I was amazed at how much she does with them. My daughter was always having so much fun and so happy in the photos! She loved going there and still looks for her at the playgroup we both visit sometimes. Her house was like a home from home for my daughter and she is so caring towards all the children she looks after. I would recommend Ann Marie to anyone!
