Childminder with a difference-Oxford
A home from home setting. Where children can access any activity they wish and follow their interests. Along with adult led oppurtnities to learn something new following the EYFS curriculum. Access to a secure garden and outdoor space, forest school, Montessori activities, cooking and creative play.
My home is within walking distance to the city centre.
I take children on trips in the local community for example little Ashmoles at the Ashmolean museum, Modern art kids, toddler theatre groups, museums, art galleries and children's groups.
Examples of activities include daily singing and music and interactive story times.
I am a trained qualified artist we do lots of creative play Playdough discos, arts and crafts, messy play. I have a role play area.
In the garden we do den building, gardening, and have a smallhouse, slide and climbing frame.
I have a positive, friendly attitude and a caring nature which I find helps children feel secure in my setting.
I am empathetic to children’s emotional and physical needs. And very motivated to help them learn, and develop.
I work in partnership with parents and have an opening trusting relationship with them. I WhatsApp daily photos of your children and show you what we have done in the day.
I am informed and have a dialogue with Oxford Council keeping up to date on training.
My Experience
I come from a large family, and I have always been around children.
As well as childminding, I have experience working as an Early Year Educator in a nursery.
I am Ofsted registered Graded Good in 2020, and have trained in home child care and have passed the CACHE course. I passed my forest school paediatric first aid. And safeguarding level 3 this year. I have also attended Developing baby and Characteristics of effective learning training along with continuing my professional development.
I have a BA in fine Art and can keep the children entertained with Art based and EYFS inspired activities. I make activities appropriate to children's needs, age, development stage and interests. Helping them grow in confidence.
