My Summary
About Me
My name is Clare, I am 46 and I have 8 children ranging from 19-27 years and one young grandchild named Poppy. We currently have one son living at home aged nineteen and who works with my husband Andrew in our building business. All the people in my house, including myself, hold a current DBS. We have three cats and a fish pond in our garden (which has been risk-assessed). I am an outgoing sociable person who enjoys meeting up with friends and family at weekends including going to shows and concerts
I live in a spacious detached house with a large secure garden. We are within walking distance to very good schools which include Lakeside Primary, The Grove, St Augustine’s and Ravenscote and I offer drop-off and pick-up from these schools. Frimley Park Hospital is within a ten minute walking distance from my house and, within reason, I may be able to offer you a parking space to park your car at my premises if you work at the hospital (which would be a financial saving of approx £15 per month). I am a 10min drive to the M3 and 20 minutes to the A3.
I have a variety of fun, interesting and educational toys for children of all ages and abilities and have a separate play room for the children to play in. They will also have the use of the downstairs living area of my house.
We have a large secure garden with toys and a fish pond which, as mentioned earlier , has been risked assessed.
I am able to care for 1 child under 1 years of age, 3 under 5 years and 2 children between the ages of 5 and 8.
Aims & Objectives
I aim to provide a wide range of opportunities in the form of interactive, fun and challenging activities to enable children of all backgrounds and abilities to develop and learn through play in a caring, safe, supportive and happy environment.
I am guided in my routines and policies by the Early Years Foundation Scheme (EYFS) framework and am registered and inspected by OFSTED.
I recognise the importance of parental involvement in a child’s early years and look forward to working together as a team to meet your child(ren)’s full potential.
My objectives for the children include the following key points:
• To develop the social skills necessary to help build friendships
• To learn to work in harmony alongside their peers
• To develop their social skills, mental and physical skills and knowledge of the world around them to help prepare for the transition to school and the life challenges ahead
• Each child will be treated as an individual and their needs addressed from a holistic perspective
• I aim to offer a balanced curriculum, in a home environment of stimulating and constructive play and activities to develop creativity and imagination.
I have a strong community spirit and endeavour to work in association with my local schools; pre-school settings and children's centres.
My Experience
I previously worked as a child-minder when my children were young and as they grew up I then worked in a playgroup and became a manager of an after school club and play scheme. I joined Frimley Park Hospital, almost twelve years ago, in the day nursery (Woodlands) at the rear of the Hospital and I held a position of assistant senior childcare practitioner until the end of 2016. My role was to manage a team whilst also caring for over thirty children. This would involve collecting information on a child’s progress and development, suggesting new ideas to make play interesting and fun for the children and also dealing with any issues that arouse up on a daily basis. I have a vast knowledge of the Early Year Foundation Scheme (EYFS). I have also previously worked with children who have varying special needs and intolerances treating all children as individuals and encouraging them to grow with self-esteem and confidence regardless of abilities. I enjoy working with children and find it extremely rewarding as I believe that bringing the best out of a child is a huge privilege.
