My Summary
About Me
Hi! My name is Laurence (Lala for the tinies).
I am French, but have lived in England since 1990. I am married, with 3 adult children (my youngest -21- still living at home), and 2 rather spoilt rescue felines.. In my care, your children will benefit from a bilingual and bi-cultural environment, with the addition of freshly prepared meals.
Being a Nanny is my next new adventure, but I am no stranger to the magic of childhood as I have 17 years experience working as a childminder specialising in Early Years.
That’s 17 years of toys, games and play plans carefully curated to support children’s interests and individuality, and engage them in various activities adapted to their abilities and stages of development.
It is also 17 years of outings that I know will do wonders to your child’s well being and feeling of self worth, whilst at the same time feeding his natural curiosity about the world around him.
I acknowledge that parents are a child’s first and most important educators, and I am keen to support all sleeping and feeding routines that meet your baby’s growing needs.
But as time passes, and trust is established and bonds formed, I hope we can work together towards enabling your toddler to create meaningful connections to the wider world and foster a love of learning that goes beyond the sanctuary of his home...
I nurture inquisitive minds...
When in control of my charges schedule, I like to dedicate mornings to outdoor pursuits (country parks, farms, National trust properties). I also plan regular visits to the library, the toddler gym, and the odd toddler group or playbarn if the weather isn’t too nice (although you can't beat a puddle splashing session to brighten the mood and bring smiles all round!)
Afternoons are often more leisurely and include napping, playing, singing songs and reading stories, crafting, baking, experimenting and learning new things in as fun a way as possible…
And as they grow in confidence, full days out to explore well known (and hidden) gems in our local area is an absolute must too...
...Because Childhood is the most beautiful of all Life's seasons.
And it should be treasured as such.
My Experience
* I was an OFSTED registered childminder from October 2006 to July 2023 and have always been awarded a “Good" grade on all five aspects of my childminding practice during all my Ofsted inspections.
* I took an 18 month break to help out in a family business but am now eager to go back to what I do best (that would be singing, doing all the voices of your favourite story, and drawing in mud) by offering my services as a nanny (primarily daytime care for under 5s but would consider after school care for the right family).
My Qualifications
I hold a Level 3 Children and Young People's Workforce Diploma, a Paediatric First Aid Certificate, a Foundation Certificate in Food Hygiene, and keep up to date with Cheshire East's Safeguarding and Welfare requirements.
I believe, that when it comes to child development, you never stop learning, and am always on the look out for ways to develop my practice and to meet, to the best of my ability, the needs and personalities of the children in my care. I attend webinars on a monthly basis, getting expert insights on any subject that catches my eye... I however naturally gravitate towards sessions supporting my own educational belief which is firmly rooted in outdoor learning.
A self confessed learning magpie, I also happily select nuggets of wisdom from other established early years pedagogies if they match my charges' varied learning styles, thus providing a truly personalised childhood experience.

Our daughters have been with Laurence (aka Lala) for almost 3 years and we have been delighted with the care that they've received. Laurence herself is vibrant and charismatic, Buzzing with enthusiastic, fun energy that she injects into all of the great activities that the kids get up to. Invariably the kids are out each day going to great places for walks, forest school activities, site seeing, gymnastics and much more. Lala really makes the special effort taking the kids far afield for safari and to see the reindeer at Christmas. The children both love spending time at Lalas and are so comfortable in her home setting which is equipped with all the toys and learning materials any 0 - 5 year old could desire. Truly a gem and a special find. Get in line for a space. It's worth it!

My child has been with Lala since she was 7 months old, after a slightly rocky start at nursery. After many tears at nursery drop off we decided we wanted a more home from home environment and opted to look into childminders. We really couldn't have found a better childminder to take good care of our baby girl. She is so settled and happy here and actually cries when its time to come home! The experiences she has are wonderful (sea life centre, farms, nature walks and many more). She has come on so much and we are constantly amazed at her development. As an early years teacher myself, I am constantly inspired with the well thought out activities in place in the home. Our child is so happy here and we couldn't ask for anything more.
