About Me
I am a 33 year old self employed experienced Nanny and babysitter. Although I do not have Childcare Qualifications (I had to give up the course I was on to care for a relative) I think my experience makes up for it as my knowledge comes from practical experience rather than a textbook. I change and adapt my approach according to the needs and personality of the child/children I’m working with.
I operate a “first come first served” booking policy so that I can be as flexible as possible to meet parents/carers needs. This means that I can offer sessions to people who need regular childcare as well as those who need irregular or one off childcare.
I like to keep my time with your children focused on them so light household tasks will be carried out only when your child/children are sleeping or are happily playing independently. I’m happy to hang up laundry to dry and fold it away and don’t expect you to separate yours and the children’s washing if you don’t usually do so. The only distinction I make is that based on previous experiences with adult laundry it will be left on your bed or in the basket whereas the children’s laundry will be put away.
I’m happy to plan activities including arts and craft. I have my own supply of craft things as one of my hobby’s is crafting. Also, if you give me a list of family/friends birthdays I can make sure cards are made. Any activities will be cleaned away afterwards with the children encouraged to help according to what is safe for their age and stage of development.
My Experience
I’ve worked with the full age range from 11 day old infants to teenagers who just need an adult in the house and/or an adult on call and to pop round to check in. I’ve worked on both a sole charge and shared care basis. Also, I have experience of looking after multiple children at once, Autism, additional needs and English As A Second language.
I’ll support your child's learning and development including keeping a Learning Journal for younger children.
My Qualifications
I have no formal Childcare Qualifications. It is something I am looking in to gaining. I’ve completed courses in Safeguarding, First Aid Essentials, Effective Transition and Emotional Wellbeing in the Early Years, Supporting Early Language Development.
I let my last practical First Aid certificate lapse but have kept up with the theory.

Kate had been babysitting for our 2 boys for a few months now and have absolutely no complaints at all. She's excellent with the boys; caring and attentive and lots of fun too. Kate has a great attitude to everything and is our first port of call if we need a night out.
If you are needing a professional, reliable and caring person to look after your children then look no further. ?
