My Summary
About Me
I am Nicola an Ofsted registered childminder based in Woodley, Reading.
I have a degree in Sociology and had worked in banking for many years before having my first child 8 years ago. I have 2 boys, aged 12 and 11 years.
My youngest son attends Rivermead Primary school so I am available for school pick ups from there..
I love getting out and about with children and regularly have trips to local parks, where we spend many days running, climbing and exploring. We enjoy often trips to local attractions, soft play and toddler groups. I also have a safe and secure garden with plenty of bikes, scooters, swings and slides.
During quieter times or when the weather is not so good, I have a large selection of arts and craft activities as well as a wide range of books and indoor games. I am also a member of the local library.
I love being around children everyday and the variety this brings, we have lots of fun! Having 2 children myself, I look at my job and the way I care for other children the way I would want my children to be looked after, and I try to create a home from home environment.
I enjoy cooking, especially baking, and like to get the children involved in dinner preparation and cake baking and decorating as much as possible.
If you have any further question please do not hesitate to contact me. I look forward to hearing from you.

My son Callum was about 15 months when I changed my childcare arrangements from full-time nursery to a mix of nursery and childminder, as I wanted my son to have a "home away from home" where he felt really comfortable.
Nicola and her husband and 2 sons not only were very welcoming and built the most amazing relationships with Callum, they also took him to some amazing places (even during school holidays) with them and really made him feel like part of their family.
Also from a mum's perspective, Nicola always asked for my permission to do things, even though she knew I wouldn't mind (like the odd trip to McDonalds!) and lots of trips to national trusts as well, and Nicola always shared the lovely pictures with me.
The other thing that was a massive life line for me as a mum, was advice about the different development stages which I found invaluable as a first time mum.
The only reason I changed my childcare arrangements was because of Covid and both my husband business and my job being at risk at the same time, and I wouldn't hesitate in asking Nicola to have Callum again (which I have done for when he goes to school this September), as she really did take the best care of him.
Thank you to you Nicola and your family for everything you have done for Callum, which has made him the lovely little man he is today!
