Studied Bachelor of Midwifery at Edinburgh Napier University Sept 2014 - June '18 prior to becoming self employed specialising in women and family support. Including Maternity Nurse, Nanny & Doula

I have studied women & families for over 14 years, 4 years intense academic study & practical experience in caring for mothers, their newborns and family within labour & postnatal units around Scotland as a midwifery student. As a postnatal trouble-shooter, doula, nanny, sleep nurse I can offer help and advice on all aspects of postnatal care including care of mother and newborn, breastfeeding/bottle-feeding support and advice, infant nutrition, as well as general practical care tips helping during the early days and beyond.

My Experience

Highly experienced in caring for women and their babies during the immediate postnatal period having worked for almost 4 years within Lothian Maternity Units & also on The Isle of Man.

I have had the pleasure in delivering 54 babies independently as a midwifery student and assisted in theatre with 29 cesareans. I have carried out 110 newborn baby checks and numerous postnatal checks on women whilst studying at Edinburgh Napier University, I have recently completed MNT Level 4 Maternity Practitioner Award, Qualified Placenta Encapsulation Consultant, Doula, Nanny & Specialist Phlebotomist. I hold a huge array of relevant certificates, up to date PVG & DBS check as well as neonatal & paediatric first aid.

Parenthood can understandably be an overwhelming experience for many new parent, as we become responsible for these tiny precious bundles of joy! There is so much to learn and with little rest in the very early days, for some, this be a real challenge and extremely tiring .

This is where I come in as a postnatal and early years expert, I can offer hands on experience caring for mothers, and their babies following a cesarean delivery or normal vaginal delivery, providing you and your partner with an ongoing consultancy and hands on practical service, I can guide you through those first challenging days, nights and weeks. I have a real belief fathers should be made to feel part of the whole birthing/early years experience at every stage including labour, delivery and beyond this is your journey too! You and your partner will gain more and more confidence, become empowered through ongoing support and advice giving you informed choice in how you would like your care to be tailored to suit your family and lifestyle it is important you make time for yourselves also some well earned "me" time.

Result ! - content, happy, settled baby, allowing you to enjoy your valuable, quality, family time!

My Qualifications

Various relevant qualifications 340/360 credits for towards Bachelor of Midwifery Degree , MNT Maternity Practitioner, Doula (Red Tent a Doula UK Accredited Course). Various NHS certificates, references all available on request. Paediatric First Aid. PVG & DBD checked. Fully Insured & references available on request.

My Availability

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday Daytime or Overnight. I charge £25 per hour overnight with a minimum of 4 hours tailored individual care plan available.
