About Me
Hi. I i live in Shirley and have been a registered childminder for 21 years. I love my job and have had children from birth to 11 years old. I have children on the 2, 3 and 4 year old 30 hours funding. I have 2 grown up chidren of my own . My daughter who is 35 has 5 children of her own and I have a son of 32 who works away from home for months at a time on a Disney cruise ship so normally it is just myself and my husband.. I have a very friendly cat and 3 map turtles.
The number 6 bus is close if you need it from my home. I walk every where which keeps the children fit and healthy, if they are baby’s they go in the push chair. While outside we learn about the environment, find birds in the trees, listen to them singing, look at spiderwebs which the spiders have made, learn how to cross the roads safely plus lots more. We go to the parks, library and todler groups each week. Depending on the number of children I have on the day we sometimes go out on the bus to solihull to experience the bus ride. We go to play lane now and again as a special treat in Solihull. I can provide good refences if you require them.
My Experience
I have worked with children for 34 years, starting with toddler groups and then play groups, them working in a nursery and kids clubs. Then 21 years ago I started on my own as a registered childminder and never looked back. I have my N.V.Q. 2, 3, 4 and 5 in childcare and management. I have worked with disabled children in the past and i am dyslexic myself so i understand how children who have problems can feel.
