About Me
I have a positive outlook and am very adaptable. I treat each student regardless of age and ability as an individual and cater for their individual needs. I am also a learning mentor, helping students over come barriers to learning and equipping them with learning techniques and skills, so that they can develop and reach their full potential.
My Experience
I have worked with students of all ages, in a range of settings including: primary schools, secondary schools, middle schools, pupil referral units and colleges.
I have worked in many roles within Education, including:
Teaching assistant both in mainstream school and an inclusion centre.
Learning mentor
Cover supervisor (covering lessons for teachers).
A pre-16 Alternative curriculum officer (organising and delivering alternative education provision in a Pupil Referral Unit).
A facilitation coordinator (assessing students needs and putting measures, strategies and help in place for them).
Learning and Engagement mentor.
I have had various training and experience with Special Educational Needs students including Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Moderate learning difficulties, Aspergers, Autism spectrum, hearing and sight impaired, social, emotional and behavioral difficulties and ADHD.
My Qualifications
I have learning mentor training.
8 GCSE C grade and above, including Maths, English, Science, Physics and Geography.
A level Geography.
Certificate in Higher Education.
BSc Hons Degree based on Earth Science and a degree unit on key stage 3 maths.
A master degree unit on applying for Higher Education.
Various other training.
My Availability
I am available most weekends and evenings. Also during the school holidays.
