My Summary

My Experience

I am a former Primary School teacher with a Post-Graduate Certificate of Education and Qualified Teacher Status to teach ages 5-11. I also have 2 years of professional teaching experience, 3 years of nannying experience, and a child of my own. In addition to this, I also have over 10 years of babysitting experience, caring for children ranging from newborn to 11 years old. I have worked with many different families, and jobs have included potty training, weaning, bottle feeding, helping with homework, providing stimulating activities for a range of ages, light housework, picking up and dropping off from nursery/school, among many other things.

My most recent nannying position involved caring for a 9 month old baby and a 2.5yo. This role involved providing activities and entertainment, taking them out and about, providing home cooked lunches and dinners, nappy changes, nap times, sterilising bottles, weaning, laundry and much more!

Many aspects of my experience as a primary school teacher are relevant to nannying. I am extremely organised, reliable, and committed. I have experience managing all kinds of behaviour, and have training in how to do this positively and constructively. I understand the importance of being reliable, and also know how important the time immediately after school can be for Primary aged children. I have a wealth of fun and constructive activities that I can draw on to keep children of all ages entertained.

I also have experience with working with babies and toddlers. I enjoy building secure relationships with these children, watching how they play and interact, and using my observations to develop and set up activities which build on their areas of development. I have experience with both puree and baby led weaning, cloth nappies, and am always happy to adapt my care to your parenting preferences.

I have built enriching relationships with children from many different backgrounds, and find that adults can learn from children as much as they can learn from us. I am very familiar with safeguarding procedures and work to high professional standards. If I were to nanny children of Primary School age, I would also be able to help with homework or offer additional tutoring.

My Qualifications

I have a BA in Accounting and Financial Management from the University of Sheffield.

I have a PGCE in Primary Education (ages 5-11) with Qualified Teacher Status from Oxford Brookes University.

I have been DBS checked recently, and will provide my most recent certificate before starting a job.

I am triple jabbed and happy to discuss covid-safe requirements.

My Availability

I am looking for ad hoc and/or regular babysitting work.

My Fees

• Babysitting from £10.00 per hour
• Nannying from £15.00 per hour (gross)

Fees are negotiable depending on hours required.
