Karla

A warm and caring home from home

Karla was recommended to us via social media and we’re so glad we found her. My 15 month old son started at 10 months and after a two week settling in period he was soon looking forward to days there. Karla regularly takes the children out to parks, and green spaces. They do baking pretty much every week and there’s plenty of toys to enjoy. I’m just waiting for the day my son doesn’t want to come home at pick up.

Home away from home

I couldn't believe how lucky we were when we found Karla.
Leaving our child at the care of another person was probably one of the hardest things we had to do, but the minute we walked into her house, and she offered to hold our daughter we know it was a good fit. In the time that she was going to Karls she became a confident happy little girl.
Every morning when we got into the car she would get so excited, and seeing how happy she was to arrive and meet Karla again gave me peace i needed to return to work.
Karla is very responsive which helps if you are a bit anxious about the whole thing. She works with an app that she updates all day with everything they have done during the day; from where they went to and what they have done, what they ate, nap times and how many dirty nappies she had. She also provides a very detailed report every few months to summarise the child's development.
Karla and her lovely family became home away from home.
Sadly we had to move away from Bristol and it was very difficult to leave. We will always be grateful the wonderful start our baby had.

The best start in life for my little girl

It’s no exaggeration to say that returing to work and leaving my daughter Freya in the care of Karla was without a doubt the best thing I could have ever done for her. Karla has given my daughter so much (in all honesty, more than I would have managed had I been a stay at home Mum) They go out everyday, Freya has a strong social network and is good at sharing, listening, is empathetic and has had exposure to so much. Then there’s the practical stuff, like helping her learn to walk, potty train, eat with cutlery. Anything I’m doing at home, I explain to Karla and she re-enforces during the day. It makes my job so much easier! Then there’s the academic, my little girl can count in Spanish and knows songs that I don’t. We get regular updates on Freya’s progress which is so useful for understanding what we need to focus extra attention on.

Karla uses an app so everyday I can go on and see pics of Freya’s day, see what she’s eaten, how many nappy changes/trips to the toilet, how long she napped etc... Freya absolutely adores Karla and her family and that was important to me that Freya was in a loving environment. On top of all this, Karla has been so flexible with start/finish. Floves her cooking and has tried stuff that I haven’t even eaten!

Freya will soon move up to pre school and I know it will be a heart wrenching move to leave Karla after the best 2.5 years together (fortunately we are expecting another child and as he will be with Karla when I go back to work after Mat leave) I genuinely cannot recommend Karla highly enough. We love her and I’m so glad i found her on this very website.
