About Me
My name is Paula Keighery. I am an Ofsted registered childminder. I have been registered since November 2015 as Little Learners Childcare. I live with my partner Daz and our 3 children Lucy (16 years old), Mason (14 years old) and Lexi May (5 Years Old).
My partner Daz has now joined the team (Jan 2017) as my assistant
I have been working with children for over 16 years and have experience with children from 3 months to 12 years old.
After having my 3rd child in November 2014 I decided to stay at home and open my home to other children and there families I made this decision due to the fact I was finding it very hard to find affordable childcare, and find a childcare setting in which I felt at ease leaving my little girl.
I understand what an emotional roller-coaster it can be finding the right person to look after your little ones. Having also come from a nursery teaching back ground, I have a great understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage to teach your child and help them to develop and grow. I feel I can offer a secure, playful and stimulating learning environment in a homely setting.
I have a fully equipped playroom/conservatory with numerous resources which provides children of all ages and stages of development the opportunity to play and learn according to the Early Years Foundation stage.
We have a secure back garden accessible from the conservatory. The garden has been landscaped in August 2015 to enable my setting to provide indoor/outdoor provision for the children all year round.
I will also offer weekly outings to local playgroups/play centers, visits to the local park, nature walks and more. Nutritious home cooked meals are also provided taking into consideration children’s dietary requirements.
My Experience
I have 16 years experience in the childcare industry. Upon leaving college in 1999 after completing a Diploma in Childcare I worked in a local private day nursery as a nursery practitioner. I gained experience of working with children 0-5 years old. I worked at the company for 10 years and had the opportunity of developing my career as the business expanded and was successfully promoted to room leader, deputy manager and eventually manager of a 52 placed nursery.
In 2009 I started a job at a school in Bury. My role involved working with all ages in KS1 and KS2 and supporting the children in their learning.

Diploma in Nursery Nursing
NVQ Level 4 in Child Care, Learning and Development
Level 4 Operational Leadership and Management
Paediatric First Aid
Safeguarding Training
Food Hygiene
Eyfs Training
I have attended a variety of other early years and child care courses. Certificates available upon request.

My little boy who is 19months now has been with Paula 3 days a week since he was 9 months old. Paula has been wonderful for us and he absolutely loves going there in the morning (and doesn't want to leave at the end of the day!)
He is always having excursion to different play groups, trips to the park and soft play centres. He has also had lots of days out to the airport, farms and museums at no extra cost.
Paula's playroom is lovely and looks out to the garden. The children are generally always playing outside which is really important to us.
Paula herself is an enthusiastic, welcoming person, who you can tell really cares for the children she looks after.
I couldn't recommend her enough to anyone looking for a childminder and it's worth going to go meet her.
