About Me

Hi my name is Katharine, I have been an Ofsted registered childminder since 2002, I live in Coulby Newham along with my husband who is registered as my assistant. We received a GOOD OFSTED inspection in September 2024. I have 4 children of my own: Twin boys aged 30 and two girls aged 27 and 18, with only the youngest now living at home, who is also registered as an assistant to offer additional support in the setting.

It is my aim to provide a fun, caring, safe and stimulating environment where each child looks forward to coming. My home is completely planned out with children in mind. I have a dedicated playroom and a separate area for art work, playdoh, sticking, gluing, etc. I have a large array of toys from birth upwards which include fun educational toys, to help stimulate learning, picture and reading books, imagination and role play, small world, musical instruments, jigsaws.

Outside I have a secure and safe environment with an enclosed play area with play equipment, pirate ship play frame, picnic area, a paved area and many outdoor ride on toys and water table. Encouraging children to have as much fun as possible!

We have 2 very friendly dogs and 2 very cuddly cats that the children enjoy being involved with.

I attend local playgroups, childminding groups, trips to the local play areas, parks, beach and libraries. I feel these are valuable activities encouraging children to interact with others and to develop their social skills. I drive a seven seater car and have appropriate insurance and well maintained car seats enabling me to access a wide variety of activities easily.

All the children I care for are provided with nutritious meals, drinks and snacks throughout the day which are included in my fees. School children can have their breakfast before school and tea after. I have a separate sleeping area for babies, which is safe clean and warm.

All members of our household hold enhanced DBS and my husband is registered as my assistant and he is first aid qualified and insured.

I find my job very rewarding and I enjoy watching the children I care for grow and develop happily. I pride myself on a high standard of childminding and provide an excellent flexible service. I will endeavour to fulfil any requests a parent requires individually for their child or children, wherever I can. I believe every child is an individual and needs to be treated that way. I aim to work closely with all my parents to offer help and advice with any concerns they may have with their children.

Your child would be welcomed into my home as an extended member of our family, with a home from home environment and treated with love and care as if they are my own. I offer a safe, secure, fun in a friendly setting.

I am able to offer the government 15 hours of funded childcare for 2 yr olds, the 30 hours of funded childcare for 3/4 yr olds and, from September, the 15 hours of funded childcare for 9 months +.
