“Brainy Bugs is a childminding service where we have a stimulating and spacious learning environment dedicated to high quality childcare.”
Inside we have two large rooms, the playroom and the learning zone. The learning zone is where our children partake in group activities and tailored one to one sessions. The rooms are bright and airy and are well equipped to provide a safe, stimulating environment. This is where your child can enjoy growing into a confident, independent and sociable young person.
As parents, we know, you will want to make the right choice for your child whatever your requirements. You will want to know that the environment in which your child is in is nurturing and stimulating. As we are a childminders our numbers are small this allows for a more homely one to one approach to your child's care and development.
At Brainy bugs we strive to create a safe, secure and stimulating environment in which each child has the opportunity to develop to their full potential.
My Experience
Background:
I have over 17 years of experience working with children and young adults. I am a passionate and nurturing individual with a particular interest in children's care and development.
I have worked in various settings, from being a nanny to a play-leader at a summer club in Muswell Hill (where I gained extensive experience in working with children with autism and special needs) to working with vulnerable young adults in hostels for LB Camden.
Most recently I worked at St Michael’s primary school working with children aged 4 -11. It is here that I gained first-hand knowledge of children's education. I was able to gain experience in the classroom, then running my own after school clubs. I was here I received several commendations from parents for my work with the children.
I have 4 children of my own all under 10 years. It was whilst looking for childcare where I discovered the importance of having a safe, loving and stimulating environment for my child. This has prompted me to pursue a career in childminding, where I believe I can offer the best level of care for children.
I have studied primary education at Middlesex University and also have certificates in childcare, child education, autism awareness, and many more. I am OFSTED registered. I have paediatric first aid training, safe guarding and food hygiene certification

I couldn’t be happier with the care our daughter received at Brainy Bugs. Leaving your child in someone else’s care is never easy, but Telena and the her amazing team made it feel like leaving her with family. The staff are incredibly caring and nurturing, creating a warm and welcoming environment where we knew she was in safe hands. The home is clean and well-maintained, which gave us additional peace of mind. On top of that, our daughter absolutely loved the food—they go above and beyond to ensure the meals are not just healthy but also enjoyable for the kids. We’re so grateful for the genuine trust and love they pour into the children and into their job! Highly recommend!

Brainy Bugs Nursery is the best! From the moment we walked through the doors, we felt the warmth and care that the staff bring to every aspect of the nursery. The environment is vibrant, nurturing, and perfectly designed to spark curiosity and creativity in young minds.
The staff are incredibly kind and attentive, ensuring that each child feels valued and supported. It’s evident that they go above and beyond. Our son comes home each day brimming with excitement, eager to share everything he has learned and did.
We’re so grateful to have found Brainy Bugs Nursery – it truly feels like a second home for our son. Thank you Telena for creating such a loving and stimulating environment. We couldn’t recommend it more highly to any parent seeking the best nursery for their child!

Aside from my daughter loving it there, I must highlight the atmosphere at Brainy Bugs. It feels like a family home. I felt very supported and reassured during the settling period which was great being that I’m a first time mum, and my daughter settled in nicely. She even has a best friend. Thank you Brainy Bugs

Very welcoming, friendly and clean which is very important to me. Lots of creative fun which my daughter enjoys. It’s like a home away from home.
My daughter also attended the half term clubs and enjoyed athletics.

Brainy Bugs have been caring for my 17-month-old son for almost a year, and I have only positive things to say about the experience. Telena and the women who work with her are always incredibly warm and kind, and the whole place has a really lovely atmosphere. Because this is Telena's family home too, it feels very safe and unthreatening, but Telana has decorated it in a way which puts most nurseries to shame, with jungly vines hanging from the ceiling and lovely work by the kids on the wall. Like any one year old, my son has had days where he's been teething or overtired, and it is clear that he gets the extra care he needs on those days. While he's too young to actually tell me what he's been up to, it's clear that he's always had fun, eaten good food, and been safe and happy. In addition, when I've had to work later than my lunchtime pick up, Telena has been great at giving me extra hours if she has space.
Like all mothers, I was anxious about putting my son into childcare and whether he'd be ok, but the moment he settled in I knew we were fine. I can't recommend Brainy Bugs highly enough.
