About Us
Awarded Ofsted Outstanding in November 2023 under the new and more stringent EY Framework and holders of Millie's Mark and the British Early Years Quality Assurance Mark! Formerly a large family residence, our beautifully converted nursery first opened in September 2015 and offers places for up to 60 children aged 3 months to 4 years 11 months, across 4 specially designed rooms, all of which have been created to meet the needs of each age and stage of development. We also have a huge and fantastically designed multi zone garden for the children to enjoy all year round!
Our nursery is conveniently situated in Front Lane, just along from the Cranham Social Hall and shopping parade. We have on site parking, are close to bus routes and we are also within walking distance of local schools and Upminster Station.
Storybook Day Nursery Ltd is the realisation of our desire to provide a setting where your child can flourish and you can focus on your own pursuits knowing that we are absolutely dedicated to your child’s care and development. Our team of caring and qualified staff is led by our Directors: family members Gill Fluin, Sophie Higgs and Grace Stratton.
Gill is a highly qualified Teacher with over 40 years’ experience working with Early Years, previously managing a 78 place mainstream school nursery with an integrated Special Needs base. Gill mentors our team across all 4 areas of the Nursery, sharing her knowledge and experience with all of our staff. Sophie is also a qualified teacher, with 20 years’ experience working with Early Years children. Sophie oversees the delivery of the activity planning and EYFS curriculum within the setting. Grace is a business management professional with 12 years corporate experience and 8 years Early Years experience. Grace is responsible for running the operational side of the Nursery and is also a qualified Level 3 Early Years Educator. All of our childcare staff hold a minimum Level 2 qualification, with the vast majority of our 36 staff already qualified to Level 3 or above. Most importantly ALL of our staff are Paediatric First Aid trained.

Our Fees
- Childcare from £80.00 per day
Storybook Day Nursery is open Monday to Friday from 7am until 6pm. We are open all year (except Bank Holidays and the Christmas holidays) and offer a variety of session options including full days, extended days and funding only sessions, so that you can choose the times that best suit your family's needs. We also offer term time only places.
