My Summary
About Me
Graded outstanding 2004, 2009, 2014, November 2019 Celine’s childcare services are available to all children following discussions with parent/guardians to ensure that the service available meets what the families need and want.
The educare setting is language rich and home-based (Littleborough). The whole house is registered for use by a vast age range of children. We use the Montessori philosophy to guide our practice within the EYFS. Montessori practice involves less formally scripted play allowing time for play-based educational experiences. Our environment is quieter, inviting children to explore and investigate with sufficient uninterrupted time for the children to see themselves as engineers, physicists, storytellers, musicians, the choices are endless. Our environment is re-sized, just a little, to leverage more special moments and avoid unachievable ones. We take time to get to know each child individually (their unique strengths, challenges and idiosyncrasies), taking time to listen to the children’s stories, laugh with them, get down on the floor with them and be respectful of them (we do not deliver calibrated doses of highly scripted, one-size-fits-all instruction. We support the development of more complex skills such as symbolic thinking and casual inference. We support the development of secure attachments and deep friendships using warm environments that elicits inquiry and problem-solving whilst engaging in multiple learning domains simultaneously. The children are encouraged to observe, question, explore and reflect.
Aims – Our aim is to introduce your child to a happy safe environment. Time spent her will be used to encourage your child to share, help and play with other children. Celine’s will ensure all aspects of play are available and provide opportunities for your child to learn through play. Celine’s will create a relaxed atmosphere to encourage your child to develop socially and emotionally not forgetting that you the parent/guardian play a crucial role in their early years and will continue to be a strong influence on their development. Children will be role-modeled self-discipline and a belief in traditional values and courtesies e.g. Please and thank you.
What we do – careful consideration is given to the three prime & four specific early learning goals. During your child’s time spent with us your child will be offered a wide range of planned and spontaneous activities that will enhance their learning. This is achieved by using the same basic routine for each day. This gives the children a regular stable environment. There is many opportunities for freedom of expression, conversation and play during our typical day. We shall build upon your child's likes/dislike/interests from home and extend here at Celine's.
Education - at Celine’s children aged between 0-3 learn best through planned and spontaneous play opportunities using the early year foundation stage prime early learning goals. Children aged between 3-4 years follow the early learning goals (3 prime and four specific) following the guidance of the Early Year Foundation Stage.
During your child’s time spent at Celine’s he/she will learn to develop to the best of their ability as an ‘individual’. Daily updates will be shared for each child under 4yrs. Daily information will be passed over during collections and drop offs.
We aim to help children to develop to their full potential as a member of a multi-faith society, respect each other as individuals irrespective of gender, ability, social origin, religious belief, language and culture.
(Celine's children are all aged 18 and over and have all undergone enhanced CRB/DBS clearance)
